Bought some flannels in Asda today, reduced to 10p each :T . They are Smart Price flannels but fine for making cakes with. I saw cream, pale blue and white.

Done some of the yule logs and was going to do a couple of miniature christmas cakes............they're not working out quite right though......too tall for the width if you see what I mean. Maybe once they've got ribbon round and some holly.......

If people are having trouble finding the right coloured flannels (I've noticed the chocolate brown ones are becoming harder to find in my Wilkos) then Primark sell a set of 4 for £1.50 and my local one (Portsmouth) has loads of browns, creams and whites.

You guys have really inspired me! I have decided to give hampers to the in-laws for Christmas and have already bought (and sort of made) my first yule log. I got the flannels from Primark. I'm also going to get some muffin cases and do socks for MIL and my neice and probably a couple of friends too :j

What with making these and nappy cakes, my DH thinks I have turned loppyloo! :rotfl:

No problems Mary! I think I will be getting my flannels from there as I am going to be making several of these to sell. My mum works at a small primary school and I offered to make some of these to sell at their Christmas fair! At least that way I can bulk buy the right colours so to speak.
