rainmac - take no notice of OH.........what do they know ??? Mine is as bad..........just gave a bit of a wry smile when I showed him my flannel cupcake, and swiss roll..............think he was of the opinion I'd totally lost the plot !
If you want some coffee colour flannels and our market chaps still got some I can pick some up, no prob.

OK people I have just thrown my stupid rolled up flannel across my living room!! I can't get the bl**dy thing to work.

I can make up the cupcake bit no problem I just have no way of wrapping the stupid thing! I've been all over the house looking for anything to make a case with no luck what so ever. I've tried greaseproof, paper, a plastic pot, tin foil and in total desperation a frosties box!!

I really wanted to get this done today so it was our of the way as by next week we will be packing!

I will love you all forever if someone can come up with an idea for me!! :D

OK all is well in my house again!! Although I'm sure my boyfriend is packing up and leaving as I speak! I'm too much a a perfectionist but thanks to his help and a piece of paper I spotted in my box of bits I've got a solution hehe.

I found a strip of paper, cut with my patterned scissors and wrapped and taped it round. It doesn't have a base but I'm too stressed to care hehe.

    What do you all think?

siren - that looks brilliant ! Know what you mean when things just don't go right......... Then an idea pops up, or someone suggests something and hey presto - its done ................then, if you're anything like me you're worn out with the stress of it all and could kick yourself for not thinking of it in the first place.................lol You''re not on your own

Awwww thanks Mary! I have to say now I've calmed down (well about the cupcake anyway its the inlaws now!! ) I am pretty pleased with it. When it comes to doing them for Christmas though I will invest in some of those cases.
I've just noticed though that it looks cream in that piccie when its actually a biscuit colour.

I love this thread so much, You all do fantastic cakes. i ordered some cases off ebay but they still haven't arrived yet. I am making one for my mum's birthday this friday but now i don't have a case to put it in. Do any of you know where else i can get one from in hurry i have tried my local cake decorating shop and they don't do this sort. Have you seen them any where else? Thanks

I live near a catering wholesalers and
took one of these cases in for them to
see and if possible order them in.
They dont stock them and tried to get
some and had no luck at all.It seems this
is very much an overseas item they just
dont make them over here.It would seem
that ebay is the only place to buy these.

Made my first 2 cakes today, or rather attempted to ... My cupcake I think is lovely and I am happy with it, however my roll has gone completely wrong, at the end of the roll it looks like it is bulged ... any tips on where I have gone wrong to those who make them?
    Thanks in advance ....
