I love this thread so much, You all do fantastic cakes. i ordered some cases off ebay but they still haven't arrived yet. I am making one for my mum's birthday this friday but now i don't have a case to put it in. Do any of you know where else i can get one from in hurry i have tried my local cake decorating shop and they don't do this sort. Have you seen them any where else? Thanks

Never been able to find similar cases in shops. Any cases I've ordered from ebay has tended to take 5-7 days to arrive. Fingers crossed your arrive on time!

Made my first 2 cakes today, or rather attempted to ... My cupcake I think is lovely and I am happy with it, however my roll has gone completely wrong, at the end of the roll it looks like it is bulged ... any tips on where I have gone wrong to those who make them?
    Thanks in advance ....

    Oh and pics ...

    Hey!
I'm going to attempt to make one of these today but don't have any cases. Anyone know of a way to knock something up at home that could be used?

Hey Rusty, those cakes are fab, I was going to try mixing 2 colour flannels in a cupcake case but sort of forgot about doing it and have never done it. Your look FAB so I'm definitely going to do it now :D

My swiss roll sort of did what yours did, it doesn't look very neat (talking about mine not yours). I want to have another go because I wanted to include one or two in Xmas baskets. Can anyone please help us with some tips on how to make the perfect swiss roll out of flannels?

Somewhere on this thread someone made a gorgeous one using greaseproof/baking parchment as the case. I think it was rosekitten.

I wanted to do 2 colours although I might get some different colours as the brown ones are supposed to be for my reindeer!!!

I got some flannels off our market in brown, cream and a sort of coffee colour. The coffee colour looks quite good...........think I prefer it to me brown and cream one. I'm doing them as christmas yule logs so a bit of holly pinned to it and least it'll look like a yule log...............lol
Want to do mini christmas cake with white flannel..........shan't use a cup cake case though...........piece of red ribbon and another bit of holly might just make it look like a cake............haven't tried it yet though

I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !
