I wonder how fast they are to close an account.....I leapt in, but feel the whole thing is rather too confusing to be bothered with!
Went on chat to say "I'd like to close my account" per their guidance...to get the bot telling me they respond within a day....
    Plan for tomorrow, enjoy today!
  • I posted about this the other day, did not know this thread was here or they had offered similar before!

Glad I gave it a miss based on this thread.

Anyone tried funding this using their Tesco debit card? Does it give you the Clubcard points or is it excluded?

Can I add savings up to the 10k manually or will the AI do it ?

I doubt the AI isn’t going to take £10k in one go, even if you set the autosave to it’s most aggressive setting, so probably best to transfer it manually.

It says on the site you can add 5k at a time.

On the general safety and security of this provider, can we assume that it is an OK site to be using for savings. Opened an account about a week ago. Seemed fine at the start but have been trying to query a few things via on-line chat over the past couple of days and not getting any replies?
I used their app and have a reasonable sum in there. A little concerning that their site does not log you out after a period of inactivity,  When I open their app on my phone I have instant access, no need to log back in, even days later?
You can setup a PIN for the app that is requested every time you open it.

Strangely, the last forum post on Chip was over 4 weeks ago.
I opened the Chip+1 account and transferred the maximum 10k into it ( 2 lots of 5k ). I wanted to do the same for my wife but her Android version 6 phone is not compatible to download the app as minimum version 7 is required. I thought about transferring her SIM card to my phone just for this purpose, but there could be a problem when I swap the cards back, and how can 2 apps of the same provider be on 1 phone ?
As the Chip 1.25% offer ends tonight, it looks like I'll have to buy a cheap Android version 7 or upward to achieve this.
    Can anyone advise ?

PS Profit is only on the maximum 10k although that is not indicated when showing the account balance of over 10k. So it's best to cancel autosave.

A nice little bonus for me from Chip. I got a free £25 prize a while back too.

    We're giving you £15!

    You've qualified.

We're delighted to tell you that you've qualified for our special offer to get £15 for depositing into your Chip+1 account last week!

Hi Quirky, your savings journey starts here.

The £15 will be paid as a bonus into your Chip account in two months' time (between 18 and 30 July 2021), provided you still have a positive balance in Chip+1 on that date.

    Retired 1st July 2021.
    This is not investment advice.
Your money may go "down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... down and up and down and up and down and up and down ... I got all tricked up and came up to this thing, lookin' so fire hot, a twenty out of ten..."
