You're brave, I would definitely have prioritised the food shop over the wrapping - I tried to get a few bits earlier and it was like a plague of locusts had been through (while still being hellishly busy) 🤦‍♀️! Fingers crossed you have more success!
    Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)
Cleared 🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️🧚‍♀️!!! In 5 years, 1 month and 29 days
Total amount repaid: £72,307.03. £1.10 repaid for every £1.00 borrowed

Finally earning interest instead of paying it!!!
  • Ha ha! I actually always do the food shop on Christmas Eve..I go to a small town with every supermarket and if you time it right it isn't bad! I have the turkey already.  But yes wish me luck, in my closest town it was madness today!
  • Happy new year all!
We were all ill over the Christmas holidays and have only just recovered.
So pleased to be well again.

Mortgage aim for the year ..
Well this is a little hard to say. We have to remortgage in May so I have no idea what rate we will get. So the first goal is for the remortgage and aiming to be at £240,000 or less by then. Once we know our rate I will make an end of year goal.

    So 2023...
    Starting amount: £253, 655.18
    Current total: £251,236.75
    Total reduction this year: £2,418.43
Outstanding amount to get to goal 1:£11,236.75

My little bro is having a baby and all is well at the first scan. I forgot how much all the baby stuff costs though!!

Just remember on the baby front - a lot can be sourced for free from friends and relatives or second hand. For how long kids are in it not always worth buying new.

    Good luck with your goals.

    February update!
A big £1400 overpayment last month as we edge nearer to our rate ending.
Meaning that with our normal February payment we are under 250k. Whoop whoop!! Meaning we have paid off £150k off the original loan amount of 400k in seven years. Not bad!

    2023 Starting amount: £253, 655.18
    Current total: £248,340.07
    Total reduction this year: £5,315.11
Outstanding amount to get to goal 1- £8,340.07

    Where is the year going!
Masters has been overwhelming to say the least..
The positive news? Two essays down! Three to go!
    Essay 1 -72%
    Essay 2- 75%

    Not too shabby!
Mortgage rates for renewal looking better. Should be able to get something starting with a 3.

Weight is a disaster. Heaviest I have ever been, bar pregnancy. Gah.
