I'm just passing through reading diaries for motivation. May I suggest that before you buy your trainers you have your gait assessed at a shop that sells running shoes. I have a particular type of trainer as I over pronate and they're worth every penny. No more sore knees or feet. The shop will also make sure that you have the correct width of trainer. Once you know your correct type you can source them more cheaply.
