I always have a little stash of money for lunches/coffees with friends. Every so often I book a day off work and have a potter round the shops, sometimes I take the train to somewhere different. I’m looking forward to being able to do this again in the hopefully not too distant future. I look like the Dulux dog at the minute 😆

Wow 11 lbs - well done you.
It’s surprising how an incentive can spur us on. When my dd was getting married, I got to target and saved for a wedding present quite easily whereas I’d struggled before.  I bought a gorgeous silk screen printed dress....I was gutted last year when I couldn’t fit  into it (it wasn’t typical mother of the bride - but is me 😉) That is my aim to get back in it.....I purposely chose it as it’s quite classic and was supposed to last me years. That was 8 years ago.

I haven’t got a clue yet about dresses but I’m like you Milann I don’t think it will be a typical mother of the bride dress I like something different but I want something really nice been for a good walk today we have had heavy snow overnight it’s very deep and it was hard walking but I suppose it was a good few calories burnt all buses have been cancelled and the market wasn’t on but the poor veg man turned up they had cleared a place for him and he kept trying to remove snow from the canopy of the stall so I got my veg and carried it home I like to get my veggies of him they are good quality and so cheep I got a veg bag which is a carrier bag of potatoes a turnip cabbage onions carrots and a leek for 3 pounds then he said I don’t think I will sell these berries today if I put some in a bag will you use them so he gave me 3 punnets of raspberries and 1 of strawberries I just put them in the freezer bargain hopefully won’t need anything else this week maybe a small loaf determined to get a good little savings pot going , also sorted out car insurance the had put it up 80 pounds got it 20 pounds cheaper than last year good work all round I think 🤔 have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Had a good walk today but when I walked past the beck I was shocked I have never seen it so full and fast flowing it was quite scary nice and dry under my coat but from my knees down I was soaked it’s pouring at least it got rid of most of the snow but every field you walk past is flooded pleased I live at the top of a hill Shepard’s pie tonight with a carrot and turnip topping trying to keep the calories down have a good day everyone whatever you are doing

Yes, flooded fields here too - the flood plains are essential (fortunately have not had houses built on them(!) even water running off fields onto the lanes and one in the village is 15cm deep. The drain gulley in the next village that runs beside the road is overspilling onto the road too. Shepherds pie sounds great. I have two bags of minced lamb in my freezer and I think one will be coming out for this soon.

It was a beautiful sunny day where I live until about 4pm when it started pouring with rain. You’re certainly getting your money’s worth out of that gammon, very MSE 😁
