If we're still in the SM/CU, does that mean we can still buy from the EU without the new GB rigmarole...?
Yes. You’ll just have to put up with currency charges on your credit card.

Try a revolut card before they change their policy.
I've got a Starling account, so it's just the standard Mastercard fx rate, no fees

Used to be able to buy from Amazon European sites, e.g. Germany, France etc. Now they'll only deliver to GB mainland. Many bargains on HotUKdeals from Amazon Europe specify UK mainland only.
  • I have bought an item from EBay. The seller needs to fill in a Custom Form to send it to Northern Ireland and needs a National ID Number? Can anyone advise me of this number please?

They're asking for your passport number, as they're sending through a company called packlink which asks for unnecessary details, I think. I googled for information, here's one of the threads I read.

I'd advise that you don't give this information out and ask them to send via hermes, royal mail or other standard courier who don't need this information. If they can't, buy elsewhere. It's insane giving this information to random people.
  • That’s so helpful, thank you

Anyone watch the latest cliched NI special, Bloodlands? The policeman told a complete stranger his daughter’s name and where she was studying. Not very realistic?

Ah, but we had a major twist at the end.   When Nesbitt shot the brother of the dead IRA man because he knew too much.

See you were paying attention. :D

Most people seem to be watching it to spot the different N.I. locations. :D:smile:
