@Murphybear don't want to 'teach to suck eggs' but have you checked out his entitlements, I believe there are different levels of care and some the LA has an obligation to pay regardless. Someone will probably have a bit more knowledge but always worth speaking to Age UK or Carers UK.@louby40 - Wow, three months already, I am not sure where the time goes, it seems only yesterday you were debating.1

Well hello everybody. (Best Matthew McConaughy southern drawl).I'm in a good mood, received a nice fat juicy tax rebate this week. 🥂💃.About time too. Lol
Hope you are all well and that the budget was kind to you2 -
Ooooo a tax rebate is always welcome.
I'm hoping to get one in April.0 -

HMRC have just finalised last year's tax. I owe them almost £600.
To make matters worse they are over collecting this year but because they've changed how they handle things I cannot sort it over the phone and will need to send them pension contributions proof in April. Then I'll be able to claim £200 back.
It's been a bit of a rollercoaster month with Mrs O being immobilised following an accident.
On a plus side I received my £175 from Nationwide.
Now planning Christmas. Extra people has meant the purchase of a new dining table and chairs. Ten will be quite a meal!4 -
Apparently I owe about £40 due to my bad maths working out my savings interest last year! I dread a change to my tax code. It always seems to take a couple of years to settle down.Organgrinder said:

@Organgrinder I was meant to message you a few days ago if Mrs. O is better now actually. So she's still not mobile yet - sorry to hear you still have more to sort out this Christmas. And the HMRC clawback on the top. I hope everything else will be fine though.@Plasticman: indeed my worry when calculating saving interest outside of ISAs is the tax code change if I have more than the personal allowance due to miscalculation despite having been careful. So we can have an opportunity to pay the tax right away rather than having a tax code change? How can we request that please? thank you.1

You might be able to do it via the HMRC app - I haven't lookedLL_USS said:@Organgrinder I was meant to message you a few days ago if Mrs. O is better now actually.
