I'm now on my 6th tax code change since I retired and started casual supply teaching. Think this will be the norm now until April. It's crazy!1

Definitely is. Since going part time my tax code changes constantly.louby40 said:I'm now on my 6th tax code change since I retired and started casual supply teaching. Think this will be the norm now until April. It's crazy!
The most ridiculous thing is they could put my tax free allowance against my main salary then tax everything else at 20% as I have told them my personal pension contributions cancel out any higher rate tax. End of tax year, the only possible tax due is anything on savings interest.
But no, they apportion it out, they tax my exam marking at 40% then I have to claim it back. And as earnings change in the year, yes, they change my tax code.
It is so inefficient!!3 -
When I damaged my knee years ago I was in Physiotherapy for 5 months. I was friendly with a woman who had broken her ankle. She said it was taking a long time to heal, much longer than my poor kneeOrgangrinder said:

It is a very common accident. I think there's light at the end of the tunnel though. Can now get about on crutches.Murphybear said:

Thanks, I wouldn't have checked due to poor memory unless I had seen this thread. Got mine too.

Myself and other half have got ours too. £100 vouchers will be another welcome bonus when they arrive.
Thank you for the tip OP.1 -
Sometimes the stars do align.
I play the switching, regular saver and cashback game. Not as adeptly as some people here, but I play it all the same. I'm going away 'down South' for a few expensive days, taking in a couple of shows, a Christmas market, some good food and possibly even a few beverages.
This week I've had; £155 from the TSB switching offer, £136 interest from a regular saver, £100 cashout from surveys and £20 topcashback. That's over £400 towards our trip and a good chunk of it paid.7
