Not sure how we've got to Thursday already but we're here and the weather is glorious. Been one of those weeks where the days have just run away for me, we go away to Suffolk this weekend, just my wife, son and I. Going for a week and looking forward to it although the guilt has been getting to me - I had a month off work when I went back to the rehab and two weeks visiting my family in Greece. I wasn't always present prior to that when my addiction had the better of me either. I am very thankful to have my staff who have kept things ticking this year and we've seen some amazing figures so not all bad.
@RobM99 thank you. You are right about beginning to control the addiction, doesn't mean complacency - been here many times before and fell back into it. Tbh think this is why I'm exhausted most of the time. I am concentrating on business and family, definitely trying to be a better dad to my boy. Being in recovery is, for me, about not letting the past ruin my future. Suppose I saw my son's schoolfriends come to my home with their parents knowing they haven't put their families through what I've put mine through. Anyway, rug doctors are enlightening ... when I first started buying property I always used to hire a rug doctor after the tenant had vacated, they all had odd ideas about 'professional' carpet cleaning so I used to hire one and do it myself ready for the next tenant. Done worse odd jobs to my properties and the carpet cleaning is oddly satisfying but fml I don't think anyone realises how bad carpets get.
@satchmo1 thank you and 100% true re both keeping the mind present / running through the consequences. Both I was taught through the pros. Unfortunately, it takes a lot more work than it sounds ha.
@maman Just want the best for him and can see he could have better. We did the meditation again this morning, he does like it sets him up 'for the day' as he likes to say lol.
@cathybird thank you and also thank you for keeping score.6 -

10/26 for me today please.
It's so helpful to declare early, I would have given in to temptation last night if I hadn't already declared... but I wasn't reneging. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?5 -
9/10 AFDs please @cathybird4
