So sorry to hear your news Manpants - that must have been a terrible shock. I do remember the incident a few years ago - you both did so well to recover from that but, as you say, it was something your partner never really got over. Sending you positive thoughts and I do hope you find a new way forward.

I might have a non-drinking day today but not confident enough to declare early so will report back tomorrow.

The new emojis are brilliant cathybird - I shall look forward to collecting them throughout the year 😀
    Thank you sukeyboo :) xx

Manpants, very sorry to hear your news, and I also remember the troubles you had a few years ago. I know how disruptive the ending of a relationship can be and it must be particularly hard at a time like this. I can only wish you the best in sorting your way through the issues as well. xx

Hi all, back on the fizzy water now. so 1/28 for Jan 2021   1/330 for the year!
Now a gainfully employed bassist again - WooHoo!
  • @ManPants really sorry to hear your news, it must be incredibly difficult for you at the moment 😔 hopefully once the dust has settled your new life adventure will begin and it will turn out to be a positive move for you.

I've decided to start my AF days on Monday- dh wants to make the most of our last weekend before work starts again on Monday (for him anyway, I was working Tues, Weds & Thurs this week!) and wants to join me on AF days - he wants us to start together though so I've agreed! As we are both pretty heavy drinkers it will be great if he does join me so I'm happy to delay my start to fit in with him 😉 however, I'll be keeping my intake low over the next couple of days- just enough to make him feel that he's not drinking alone!

So sorry to hear your news manpants. I think it's a wise decision not to drink for a while though. You need a clear head with all the thinking you must be doing. Well done. 😊

That'll be really helpful having your OH cutting down too leftatthetrafficlights. I'm starting again on Monday too. 😉

    Happy New Year!
Please can I have a target of 31 for January (my first ever dry January, hopefully, despite my birthday!) and target for 2021 of 260 days.  Thank you very much.  2 AFDs so far including today.
Similar to Annie, New Year's Eve was not great for me this year either, DH and I finished all the Christmas wine left in the house - I had been so careful over Christmas - and I had the worst hangover ever yesterday.
