Thanks both, I know it has really brought it home and a totally unnecessary end to a life. I see there is updated restrictions being announced later. I really do hope that we can get ourselves sorted once and for all. As I’m not sure how we can go on. At least this time if work closes again il not let myself drink every night like I did  when we got sent home in March.   Been there done that not doing it again!

Thank you for letting me join you.

Sorry to hear about your colleague, Lantanna. That is really sad.

We are now in a total lockdown until February. Not allowed to leave the house but I'm not going to use that as an excuse to start drinking again. Today I've been having sparkling water with a dash of lime juice and very refreshing it is too. So that's me started. 1/20.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.

We are now in a total lockdown until February. Not allowed to leave the house .
How come? Live in Scotland? Scots will only be allowed to leave home for essential purposes, such as shopping for food and medicine, exercise and caring responsibilities.

No limit is to be put on how many times people can go out to exercise, but outdoor meetings are to be limited to a maximum of two people from two households.

4/31 eating chocolate as booze is off the menu after seeing the latest breifing from Boris Johnson. I'm waiting to hear from my employer but I bet we will still have to carry on as normal this time. My wife is a key worker but might be working from home but we don't know yet so don't know if the kids can stay at home or not.
Nothing to see here, move along.
  • Welcome to the thread ditty1234Toni'sfriend and picnmix64. This thread has been of invaluable help to me in previous years. To the other Giving Up/Cutting Down veterans, here’s to another year of mutual support and encouragement.
Sorry to hear your sad news lantanna. Unfortunately I think more and more of us will be in a similar position in the weeks ahead. 😔
ManPants I am also sorry to hear your news. Please just remember to look after yourself.

Cathybird I am at 3/29 today please. I had a couple of drinks on NYD, partly as a reward for doing better than I expected in December, it was very restrained really but for some reason I felt ‘rough as’ the following day: tried, grouchy, no energy, dry & dehydrated, headache that wouldn’t shift. So I have no inclination to drink anytime soon.
