Good morning everyone.
Some very important and thought provoking posts over the last couple of days.
I am 3/21 for yesterday please cathybird. Thank you. X4 -
Goooood morning. Slept 10 hours and feel great. There we go.
Hopefully repeat tonight. I think it depends on whether you're an addictive personality, how your body reacts to dopamine etc. That's why some can control it others not. I'm definitely more of an addictive personality. So it's a bit more than just breaking the habit. But we'll all get there . Even just being on here and thinking out loud and your support has helped.
Probably be here again tonight when DH needs a drinking buddy as I'm sure he'll want a hair of the dog tonight and I don'tDEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/256 -
Certainly are a few thought provoking posts at the moment.
I was fine last night and feel great this morning. So much so that I am thinking, ooh what can I do? Where can I go? Haven't got my girls, so can't do anything with them, but my usual Saturday would be just sitting on the sofa getting over the night before. All this is making me sound worse than what I believe I am as I (even now that I am considering total abstintence) still feel I have control over my drinking. But... it is a slippery slope and I feel there are more downsides to drinking that upsides.
I'm still not committing to long term sobriety, but just the "for now" will do me.
More thought provoking comments coming up.
With my constant reading on sober blogs, books (went to the library yesterday just because and found a book on the subject) and various foums, there was the question, can you moderate your drinking? I.e. can you drink without getting drunk?
My initial thought? What is the point?
And then another lightbulb moment! I've always said that I don't drink to get drunk? But in the same breath, then think, what's the point in drinking if there's no effect from it? At what point do I match the two up and ask myself self, so what is the point in drinking?
Not going to declare yet for today, but have no intention of drinking today.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I've been doing some reflecting. I drink to take the edge off or get drunk. I'm an introvert and can't take too much company and feel held back by people being around me all the time. Which is what I get with a family 🙄 so drinking masks my feelings and gives me an excuse why I haven't got done what I planned to to. Obviously never compromising the safety of the kids or pets. And it's a reward after a long day, wind down and the usual. Obviously bit more to that but that won't bore you with all my thoughts.DEBT 02/25: total £6100 Debt free date 12/254

4/25 for today. I start with drinking because I love the taste of wine, but then carry on because of habit. Has anyone noticed that the specific aspects of the taste of any wine fades after the second glass? What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?3

Evening everyone,
Another day safely cleared and now on 4/30
I've overdone the sugar today, left over fruit crumble and some birthday cake, still not as many calories as my usual bottle of white wine.

So i made it 3 days and then went on a binge. Currently still on it i guess, since i fell asleep earlier, but still have beers in the fridge.
I'm not mad at myself, i know why it happened: I wanted to do it.
Thank you for all the kind words and for posting your own experiences, all of it helps. I hope one day i won't want to do it and i will be able to direct my enegy to something else.
