Oh dear still on a big ole zero, went for a meal out and had a voucher for a free bottle of wine.

Tonight went better. Hubby suggested to get a few for when he's back from his run. I said I'll go quickly beforehand under the pretence of needing to do a wee top up shop anyway. Only got him two and me some nonalcoholic ones as I knew he'd get me some no matter what I say. So 1/22 😃 🥳👍👏finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)6

A few years ago I read a couple of books by people that quit drinking. One thing that came up that is that alcohol is the only addictive drug that's thrown at us all the time. Like, no-one would give out vouchers for free weed or cigarettes or else (or many of other available substances with less damaging effects but a worse reputation). Anyway, whole other story.Coveredinbees!!!! said:Oh dear still on a big ole zero, went for a meal out and had a voucher for a free bottle of wine.finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)6 -

So, posting on here as i am trying to give this up.
Truth is - i enjoy it. It helps me forget about my debt and general life. I never drink enough to affect my work in the week (finish work by 4pm, passed out by 9pm, awake and largely hangover free by 8ish am) on a weekday.
But i've hit so many low points otherwise at the weekends...abusing drink and medicine (DO NOT DO THIS EVER - SERIOUSLY DO NOT) and falling asleep in the bath are the really bad ones.
I got in a weird habit of texting myself when i was drunk - and let me tell you, the texts i sent when i was 9 pints and several fluoxetine into an evening were scary. And weirdly, i pretty much can remember everything until the moment i pass out (my friends always hated this about me growing up!!!!).
Last Thursday - Friday i drank so much i spent Sat in bed. Then Sunday i had more.
Currently, my last drink was a sip of champange at a family wedding on Tuesday.
So...Day 2.
