Fantastic news, Mrs_S - I'm so pleased for you 😃😃😃
Some great Ikea bargains too - your new home must be looking lovely!
Sugarbaby - how annoying about the leather furniture.... and after you getting it for such an amazing price 🙁 What a kind gesture to let your neighbour have the sofa and armchair for her daughter!
My champagne moment yesterday was DH bringing home a large pot full of forget me nots and another full of primroses that were unwanted at the property where he's working. I've been gathering all our previously randomly scattered primroses into one place beneath our very old apple tree, mixing them in with the bluebells. These new additions will boost their number brilliantly 😆
I've got the perfect place for the forget me nots too!
After yesterday's dull, damp day it's sunny - albeit a bit chilly - today so later I'll be planting them all out....

I am so happy life is getting back to normal. I have a few nights out planned for May and June.
I found a great "new" charity shop local to me that I hadn't been in since about 2005! It's the best one in the area IMO with the quality of the stock and the presentation in the shop and I spent about £30 the past two days on new clothes and bags. I need to prepare for my nights out and I want some new outfits to wear.I bought 6 items today at only £1 each as well.

Hello my lovely friends.....
how are we all, enjoying lots of champagne moment I hope.Mrs S. so glad to hear you've got the all clear. I did read that covid jabs could be responsible for skewing mammogram results. I have had a notification to book my next mammogram so I will discuss it with them and see if it might be best to wait a few weeks.SUgarbaby - your house fabbing sounds great. That sofa and chair set was a real bargain. Shame you had to part with it but I'm sure the new recipient will be delighted and grateful for your generosity. Karma will repay and I'm sure you will find just what you are looking for.Wednesday.....sounds like you are finding some amazing chazza bargains. And I agree - it's so nice to be getting back to a "new normal". I too have managed to pick up some great finds.Well I've had a really good week. Had my second covid jab on Monday and touch wood so far I've had a much easier time of it this time round. Side effects have been minimal, mainly tiredness and just feeling "weird" - a bit whoozy and lightheaded is all. Hopefully, that's it now.I kept the week clear and just rested and took things fairly easily, binge watched Line of Duty again (so I could follow the plot😂) and also "It's a Sin". Brilliant, funny but also very sad.I did manage to drive over to my youngest sons house yesterday and had a lovely lunch with him and his partner and their beautiful cats. One of which immediately crawled into my bag and had a nice long sleep.
Other than that, nothing special happening here.Like Wednesday I'm just so happy that life is slowly getting back to normal. I am just loving being able to visit non essential shops again. Simple pleasures.
big champagne moment this morning....jumped on the scales. Stayed the same, which considering how decadent I've been of late was something I did not expect. So, now it's back on the healthy eating and see if I can shift a few lbs - ready for that bjg birthday. 😉7 -
Glad your second jab went ok, LL 😃 Also that you had a lovely lunch date with your DS, his partner and cats, lol!
Wednesday, great bargains from your newly rediscovered charity shop 😉
I've not been out anywhere other than the garden centre since our visit to Homesense on 12th when non-essential shops re-opened. DH is trying to persuade me to have another trip to the latter but other than a slimline desk, there's not really anything we need that they are likely to have so I'd just end up being tempted by cushions 😆😆😆
We do need to get our storage for the upstairs hallway sorted, but that's going to be Ikea Besta which we can probably order online.....
Tomorrow we may go to our local independent garden centre that has recently moved to new, larger premises as the final thing needed for the *white* bed is a third standard bay tree and perusing their Instagram it looks like they have some.
Otoh, my delivery of plants from Claire Austin is due to be delivered tomorrow so will most likely stay home for that 😉
Yesterday's champagne moment was another freebie from the *big house* where they were having a clear out of the on-site storage container full of stuff from their previous home. DH returned to the landy to find a mohair blanket/throw on the passenger seat. Never been used and that brand are selling for £80+ online 😃Mortgage-free for fourteen years!

I want some cushions too Phoebe. I need cushions, a small rug and an artificial plant.
LL - I'm glad your second vaccine was better. I really hope my second jab goes okay too. As I told you I felt awful after the first one. People are saying the second one is easier, thankfully. My husband got the date for his second dose.
My friend texted me today and said that there is a new phrase, instead of FOMO/Fear Of Missing Out the new one is FOGO/Fear Of Going Out. I am really looking forward to going out more!
We tarted up our house a bit painting the living room and bathroom white so we are ready to move if we see a house we like from autumn onwards. We are going to move my laptop into the other bedroom to show it as an office. I don't even use it as an office anymore but having it as the cat's bedroom maybe looks a little weird to potential buyers.
I have a collection of stuff for the dump. It seems like we deposited a lot of junk back last summer but it has accumulated again.
I have to stop buying handbags from charity shops as I bought another three this month and I was looking at how many I have already. Thirteen! I used to be a minimalist. I don't know what happened. Lol.
I hope everyone has a lovely weekend.x2025 GOALS

Thanks for your kind posts everyone, very much appreciated. LL the doctor at my investigation advised me to reconsider HRT as it can cause breast problems. I’ve had a fair few scares over the last few years (I have quite lumpy boobs...sorry all...tmi) so I’ve decided to stop taking it and see what symptoms present themselves. Better than wondering if I will get cancer, I think.Phoebe - I’m so pleased with how my house is progressing. It’s really taking shape now. I’ve decided to go for a new kitchen which I think will be a really good investment - keeping a very close control of budget, of course!Sugarbaby - what bargains! And I agree with LL - karma will repay you!
wednesday - I used to love handbags...have got out of the habit now...
im so glad non-essential shops are open - and I really appreciate them so much more!
picked up a couple of bargains today - I found some unused paint and even though I didn’t have a receipt I took them back and chanced my arm. Only went and got £48 back in credit! Didn’t last long though as I bought a radiator cover for my sons room, then found a bathroom mirror for £6 and a towel rail for £10 (reduced from - I think - £25/£30)! Chuffed with those!
also had a walk with my bestie in a local wood which was full of bluebells...you reminded me with your post, Phoebe!
got a day of putting furniture together tomorrow....wish me luck!9 -
My Champagne moment today was my neighbour coming to see me to say thank you and she gave me a thank you card. Her daughter is so pleased with the leather sofa and armchair. I am just glad that they went to a home where they will be used and appreciated. It was only when I was back inside my home, that I discovered that inside the thank you card was £10.
The message in the card is so heartfelt and gracious.

I have today launched my little enterprise, just dipping my toe in the water by listing a few items on eBay. 🤞🤞🤞.Wish me luck.Lovely day here, just pottering about and enjoying the sunshine.
