Well, so much for me swearing blind that I didn't need more clothes - DH just got home and he'd popped into TK Maxx on his way 🙄 He found a stunning (Scandinavian) black coat - which just happens to be something I do need, having ripped a massive hole in my favourite black coat only last week - for £75.....RRP £720!!!!!What a bargain.

My Champagne moment today was taking delivery of my 'new to me' solid oak sideboard and solid oak shelving unit that I bought with the money I received for my birthday

I feel so happy to get out and do something normal. I just went to some charity shops this morning.
I got a dark grey F&F jumper, a red New Look jumper and a Clockhouse at C&A black cardigan with fringe around the neck. In the other one I bought a silver cushion for my bedroom and a black and white long sleeved Primark top. It was all less than £10.
I got in nearly 7,000 steps walking there and back too. We have also booked a pub for a couple of hours with outdoor seating for Friday. I'm so excited about going out somewhere and also to get my hair cut first!
It's so wonderful to get our lives back.2025 GOALS

All sounds great, Wednesday! 😃
We tried out a new-to-us fish and chip shop the other night. It's been nominated for an award and was very good - means we don't have to travel so far for decent fish and chips in future!
Noticeably warmer but a bit less sunny here today. I've spent the last few days on my knees weeding. The rose beds aren't too bad, but the *architectural* bed (where the plants with more interesting foliage reside - or that was the plan, it hasn't exactly worked out like that, lol!), the rockery and other beds are a bit overrun... mostly with hairy bitter cress, creeping buttercup and the dreaded ground elder 🙄
I just need to keep on top of it, but there's so much other stuff in the way - bulbs and emerging perennials. Anyway, I'm making steady progress now.....as long as I avoid thinking about the orchard and other untamed areas!!!
Getting down and dirty in the garden has lifted my spirits hugely though - seeing the first rose buds, counting over seventy alliums budding, blossom, bluebells and green shoots everywhere 😄😄😄
Hoping to get more work done on the new white bed at the weekend - we're halfway with it now. Like everything, it's taking longer than intended - not to mention costing more - but will massively improve first impressions of the *back* garden (actually the side 😉). I took delivery of five white Brunnera yesterday, but still need to buy a few more early flowering bits and bobs as we're trying to have something in flower from March through to October.
Hope everyone is having a good week, including LL on her family staycation!

My Champagne moment today was going to Blackfriars to take part in the course 'Spoken Word to Art'. I had great fun working with clay trying to make a bird. It was also so great to socialise with like minded people again, even with social distancing and wearing a mask at all times within the building.
I have 2 more Thursdays until the end of the course. I am really looking forward to continuing the course for the next 2 weeks7 -
Morning all - I’ve been awake since silly o’clock and finally decided to get up and make a coffee and have a browse. I’ve been waking early a few times lately, there’s so much going on!We finally finished decorating the bedrooms this week (what a long haul that’s been...) and I had the blinds fitted on Monday - carpets being fitted today and furniture moved back in tomorrow. I cannot wait for my bedroom back - but a much improved version of it! I then have a trip to the Swedish superstore on Monday which I’m also very excited about. Can’t remember if I said, but my renovations so far have taken a chunk out of my reno budget, so I have to carefully manage the rest. I’ve had a couple of quotes for tarting up the kitchen (new doors and worktops) and it isn’t much more for a complete new kitchen so I’m hoping to stretch to that. Had a lovely day with a friend yesterday who came to help me with some cleaning and maintenance jobs - we were up ladders, digging borders, moving furniture round - the lot! Super productive.I’ve bought a couple of groupon deals this morning....bamboo kitchen roll and some wildflower seeds for my new borders! So lovely to hear you all sounding so upbeat - looks like you had a fab birthday Sugarbaby! LL what a lovely week of self maintenance 😁 - and Phoebe great bargain but I’m more impressed your husband seeking it out for you!
had a bit of a curveball last week as I got called back for further investigations following a routine breast scan. Just waiting for the results of a biopsy now, so fingers crossed. I’m feeling quite positive and hopeful though. But god love our NHS - they are so thorough!
Right, almost time to get up now and wouldn’t you know it I could just go back to sleep.....10
