It is a really lovely day here too.
Liberty Lily - it looks great.
Helen - I love living near the sea.
I was thinking that I used to get a sinking feeling on Sundays because I must associate Sundays with having to go to church and having to go to school or work the next day even though I obviously don't have any of these on Monday anymore! Since moving here I associate Sunday with going to the beach! I'm 46 so I must have felt this way for ages and it is so nice to finally not get that feeling of dread.

I just got the kitchen door done which is a relief.:) That will help with the cold weather, hopefully.4 -
Thanks Wednesday 😊2

Helen-we moved from the edge of the Peak District to Kent and now are only two miles fro the sea. I love it and certainly won't miss the the winters up there.
It took a lot of persuading to get DH to move but I think he's glad we did now.5 -
My Champagne moments today:
I went to watch the film Top Gun Maverick at my local Odeon cinema this afternoon. I had a My Odeon silver screen ticket which only cost me £3.50, and I got a free cup of tea which was worth £2.50. I really enjoyed this action-packed film. Tom Cruise was a great lead. For me this film was a 9.5/10
I got my 1st Energy Support Scheme voucher through the post from my energy company today.I put the £66 on my Gas prepayment card, as I will need the help with my Gas more than my electricity as I will be using a lot of Gas for my central heating this winter.

I really loved Maverick and I am not a Tom Cruise fan normally.:)

My Champagne moments yesterday:
I went to Andover with my son and daughter to celebrate my granddaughters C's 16th birthday and D's 17th birthday at the home of my eldest daughter and son-in-law in Andover. My eldest daughter cooked up a feast and I got some food to take home in containers, so Sunday dinner is on her.
A fun filled time was had by all, including my 2 Great-grandchildren.

Beautiful pics of your granddaughters and great-granddaughter, Sugarbaby ☺️ It looks - and sounds - as though you had a super celebratory time with your family!
My champagne moments this weekend -
The website with one of the crewelwork cushions for the living room had 10% off so I ordered that yesterday 🙂
It's been mostly sunny, so between assisting DH (who's been doing stonework on the old extension frontage) and boring household stuff, I've spent lots of time out in the covered part of the courtyard, sprawled on the sofa, reading...I also ordered three new bargainicious books (two historical novels and a biography of Rossetti I don't have) on ebay.
I also had a lovely long chat on the phone with DS 😍
Having recently cleared the last of the larger furniture items we no longer require, today we sold the final small (Art Nouveau) table. Just a few odd bits to go now.
Tonight I'm cooking a favourite supper - smoked haddock with cauliflower cheese - which we'll eat whilst watching the Strictly results show 😋

Lovely pics Sugarbaby.
We came second in the Black History music quiz last night. I knew many more answers than I would have thought. Our team got a bottle of wine which I took home as they said I got so many answers correct.:)
I had my usual Sunday stroll to the beach with my husband and my dog. It was very warm and I felt hot on the way back. The weather has changed since then and now it is more chilly and rainy. I got back into my pyjamas when I got home and have been sitting on the sofa with my fleecy blanket on my lap watching TV most of the afternoon.

Thanks Liberty Lily and Wednesday.
Well done Wednesday on your team coming second. They were right to insist you have the bottle of wine if you answered most of the questions.
My Champagne moments yesterday:
I went to The Old Vic yesterday evening to see One Voice: Who's Planet Are You On? which was an event where actors performed four monologues on the subject of climate change. I received a free ticket to this event, so I saved myself £15.All four monologues were so different, yet each was a great way of commissioning a piece of creative work from 4 established writers in getting the climate change message across to a wide audience. For me this event was a 9/10
I am writing a monologue of my own in response to this event, for a competition that The Old Vic is opening for submissions in November. I had an idea of what I wanted to write, so I wrote it as soon as I got home. I asked my 2 children to listen to my monologue and they both thought it was okay, but I will be doing some more writing and making what I have already written even more effective, by making some changes, as there is definitely room for improvement on my initial good idea. Another avenue for me to improve my writing.5
