Long time since I posted on this thread but yesterday DD who works at an immersive tourist attraction as a performer got called in to work from 'stand by' (cover if someone else is off). What non of us realised was this included her working a late shift and the trains were limited home (2 options, 1 an 1.5 hr journey, the 2nd the usual 20 minutes-ish but wait 2 hours after work finished waiting for it). With DH already having plans to go out, no one to pick her up. She also has work today she'd be doing her usual commuting to. Fortunately DH realised about some loyalty points he has for a hotel that he'd never used (they come from business trips abroad, so has never paid for the rooms himself) and that's how my teenager spent the night on a freebie at a Hilton hotel with breakfast included -lol.9

Arielgirl that was a real cost effective facial routine.
Spendless your daughter must have really enjoyed her night and breakfast in the Hilton hotel.4 -

I mentioned that if she told one of her workmates the situation, I'm sure one who lived nearby would go join her for a drink/take some wine over.
DH - Yeah, that's why I've booked her into a twin bedded room, so there's a spare bed for a girl and if she invites a boy well at least it won't be comfortable for 2 of them to spend the night in a single bed.

Some great champagne moments there, everyone 😄😁😆
My most recent one was selling the gothic stained glass window we got for free for £250 🙂
Despite today's rain, the garden continues to look good. Here's a quick pic of the white bed we created last year...starting to fill out and become nicely established (excuse the state of the grass - we're doing 'no mow May' 🙄😉)......7 -

Wednesday, it was one of several original windows (but the only stained glass one) that DH was instructed to remove from the gatehouse he's been renovating for a client. They told him to put everything on the bonfire (more money than sense, lol 😆) before the upvc ones were fitted. Instead, the whole lot came home. We'll be using the other gothic arched windows and matching door when we build our garden room 😃

My Champagne moment today was going to my local Odeon cinema to see the film Downton Abbey: A New Era. I really loved this film. It was surprisingly full of humour, so I laughed out loud a few times. For me it was a 9.5/10. I do not want to give too much away to those of you that have not seen it yet, but intend to. It has great story line, plots and there are a few unexpected twists.6

I'd definitely plan on seeing it, Sugarbaby ...we've watched the previous one as well as all the Downton series which we thoroughly enjoyed...will probably wait till it's out on dvd though. I love Dame Maggie Smith and I've a soft spot for Hugh Bonneville, too, whom I sat next-but-one to at the Guards Chapel in London back when DS was a cathedral chorister and our choir sang a special concert there 😀
Talking of dames, I do hope our famous 'dame namesake', Helen is ok as I've not seen her posting for some time, hopefully she's just busy fabbing her home ready for sale......
Champagne moments here -
I chose the new Little Greene eggshell for the panelling in the living room (can't really call it a snug now it's considerably larger, lol!) and got 20% trade discount thanks to DH 😇
Everything's blooming wild in the garden right now and our hard work is definitely paying off! Many of my bargain ebay plant buys from 2020 and '21 have gone mad, filling gaps galore as have others from the highly recommended Kelways and Farmyard Nurseries 😉

Chammpagne moments today - first one going out without tights for the first time this year (hopefully I can now consign my tights to the back of the undercracker drawer).
Second, and more important one, I took DS for breakfast at the local cafe, was lovely as we were able to sit outside in the sunshine. He's staying with us for a week or so, he goes back to London on Wednesday.Debt free and Keeping on Track5
