Our church (around 60 active members) hosted a visit by a church in the French-speaking part of the country (40 people visiting). I was in the organising committee. We had 1 meeting, 1 prep visit to the gardens we planned on visiting, 1 Saturday morning setting the church hall up, and the day of the visit all day. For that investment I got: feeling part of a group building something positive (I missed that during covid!), free breakfast, free hot lunch, a visit to a beautiful garden, and fun conversations with new-to-me people. (I work on the principle that new people are future friends, so I'm usually happy to meet anyone.) We lucked out with the weather, and I'm looking forward to next year, when they are hosting us.

Hi all, Phoebe here 🙂
I've been absent for ages due to getting a new mobile then somehow managing to lose all my various forum log in details and email passwords etc ☹️ Still can't access my main email account but at least I can now take decent pics again 😉 Then I remembered this ancient account which I've resurrected!
Anyway, I'm so sorry that as a result I missed Sugarbaby's birthday (so extremely belated many happy returns 😊) and also Wednesday's house move (congrats on finally completing!)....
There's been a few champagne moments here, although not building work related as that's going at a snail's pace, but the garden is looking lovely reflecting the hard work DH and I have put in over the four years since purchasing the old mill 😃 Last week we snapped up two more David Austin roses for the rose beds (last chance to buy bare roots till autumn, so saving some £££) and the white bed got a boost when we visited a local independent nursery at the weekend and I found some white salvias that are supposedly tough enough to withstand the Welsh winter 😉

My Champagne moment on Monday evening was finishing the autobiographical book And It's Goodnight From Him by Ronnie Corbett which had me laughing out loud and crying tears of laughter.
My Champagne moment yesterday was sharing my 1st story outline for the Neighbourhood Voices programme I am participating in on the Frump to Fab thread and getting useful feedback. I also started to read the autobiographical book Who Am I, Again? by Lenny Henry which is also making me laugh out loud.8 -

Today's champagne moment -
After a dull start it's turned into a warm, sunny day, although typically I'm supposed to be inside doing building prep 🙄
Had lunch outside where everything in the garden is looking lush, green and colourful....
