Been busy playing musical windowsills with the seedlings today. All those sown the other day are now on sills and stuff that was potted on last week are heading for the potting shed and greenhouse.CRx1

Chillies are all under propogator lids indoors. Today's activity between work was admiring and talking to seedlings and potting up yet more cosmos. I'm starting to run out of small pots...1

Trying not to stress my poor tomatoes and leek seedlings. Took 1/2 of 2 varieties tomatoes and half the leeks and moved to south facing window sill. At work today so hopefully the very good weather won't be too hot for them.
Trimming some of the grass down on allotment paths this morning before work, since i almost done my ankle in stepping into a hidden hole yesterday. It's good for the soul to walk with your soles on the soil.1 -

Loads more purple carrot seedlings have arisen now.
Still no signs of life from the parsnips, beetroot or chilli's though.1 -
@RelievedSheff Don't give up on the parsnips, mine took about 8 weeks to germinate last year. Thought they'd failed and they all came at once really suddenly after a big downpour of rain. Still eating the last of them now!
Managed to get my aubergines and padron peppers on at the weekend, but no sign of life yet. My sweet peppers are looing wonderful though, will be ready for potting on next week I think. Tomatoes also not looking too bad - 100% success rate on the Roma, and not far off for the others.
I've also moved my nasturtiums and zinnias to the greenhouse, as suggested here. The zinnias look good but nasturtiums have gone a bit floppy. I have more seed if they fail though - I definitely sowed too early.2 -
Potted on my last (hopefully) batch of tomato seedlings and left them in the greenhouse. I need to plant the next seeds (usually sweetcorn, cucumbers, squashes, peas and beans this month). I can see one single broadbean seedling was missed by the mice but otherwise the crop is a write off. It's OK it was an in-between crop but we do seem to have more invaders.
I'm hoping for good pollination as we have bees too.Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Finally got my potatoes in yesterday. Noticed my stinky feed bucket [water, add any weeds that can't be composted to it and nettles...] has split in the cold weather so I am on the lookout for a replacement. With a lid obviously. Chopped up some more tree into the green bin. No sign of tomato life yet.

Our Cayenne and Jalapeño chillies have sprung into life.
Hopefully the Habanero and Rat Turd chillies won't be too far behind them.2
