Today I am wearing:
Top I inherited from my Mum, which is at least 20 years old
Pair of jogging pants I bought second hand 5-6 years ago, mended once and the waist-tie replaced when the original finally snapped beyond use
Socks bought on holiday last year when I (for some reason) only packed 2 pairs - bought from a NT shop mainly as it meant I didn't have to wander around a strange town in the late afternoon trying to find somewhere which sold socks2024 Fashion on the Ration - 10/66 coupons used
Crafting 2024 - 1/9 items finished5 -
Today I am wearing a nice black top which came from a charity shop 4 or 5 years back; it had a faux under-shirt which rather spoilt it & made it look prissy, so I took that out! I will shorten the sleeves at some point; I have 3 or 4 other tops waiting for the same treatment. Plus a nice M&S skirt acquired from a charity shop pound rail when we were looking for larger stuff for Mum. This one fitted me! Easy to wear, & quite practical but relatively smart-casual; took DS3 down to visit Mum today. Oh, and one of my new pairs of sandals.Angie - GC Aug25: £292.26/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)4

Today I wore a pink t shirt with white flowers, bought in BHS a good few years ago, a pair of light blue 'jeans' from Damart 3 years ago and Clarks sandals.
@PipneyJane, if you wear a beige coloured bra under white it won't show through. I have a lot of white t shirts and I used to be very self conscious until I discovered this trick!2025 Fashion on the ration

Today I wore a white M&S t shirt about 7 years old, pair of blue patterned leggings about 5 years old, can't remember where I got them, socks at least 5 years old I got as a present, grey and multi coloured skechers trainers 3 years old, underwear is newer, knicks about 2years old and bra from Christmas. No jacket or coat as it was warm. My handbag is also at least 7 years old.
I am off to London tomorrow to visit with my niece for a few days, she is home from Bequia for a couple of months and is house and dog sitting for 5 weeks near syon park. I have been looking at the clothes I have sorted to take with me and apart from the underwear the newest thing I am taking is my trainers7 -
I love this! What a thrifty lot we are. Today I am wearing: jeans, bought from a charity shop about two years ago (and worn on rotation for the last 18 months!), a very old (ten years at a guess) M&S t shirt which has frayed at the neck. It’s probably destined for the ragbag, but I need to be wearing old clothes today. Over this I’ve got a favourite stripey cardigan, bought new from East at least seven years ago. Socks with holes in, they will be going in the bin after today, and my ancient Ecco clogs bought in TKMaxx at least ten years ago which have been used as garden shoes. My house is empty and very echoey, I’ve cleaned almost everywhere except the kitchen floor.I’m just loading the car up for a tip run when my friend gets here, and then I hand in the keys 😢😄 New adventures beckon, I’ve had 14 very happy years here but it’s time to move on. I have no fixed abode at the moment, spent last night with a friend, this weekend with another friend, and I’m moving to an Airbnb on Monday. Fingers crossed, my new purchase will go ahead within the next six weeks. I think I’m going to regard this is the equivalent of being ‘bombed out’ as I may need some new linens and curtains when I move.Life is mainly froth and bubble: two things stand like stone. Kindness in another’s trouble, courage in your own.8

Today was the launch of our new office building, at work, so I've actually been into an office twice in 8 days! Being Friday, I opted for "smart casual", so today, I am wearing handknitted socks, my black Asics trainers, a clean pair of those M&S stretch jeans, a blue & white striped M&S t-shirt, and a "Next Tailoring" blue tweed jacket, which I bought this time last year for £7.50 from a charity shop and have not had the opportunity to wear before.MrsCD said:Today I wore a pink t shirt with white flowers, bought in BHS a good few years ago, a pair of light blue 'jeans' from Damart 3 years ago and Clarks sandals.

@PollyWollyDoodle good luck with the move. Hope it all goes well.
@Liverpool_Anne - enjoy your trip. Your niece is house-sitting about 10 miles from me. If you head north from there to Ealing, there are some good charity shops on the South Ealing Road (near South Ealing station) and in Ealing proper. Sadly, I'm off to Somerset tomorrow to visit my SIL for the weekend.
