@chanie I began to support my local food bank back in March - the first couple of months when shopping was really difficult it was mainly from my cupboards, and ever since September on payday I do a £20 shop in Lidl which goes straight into the food bank donation cage. It's what I would previously pay for my parking at work (currently WFH) and it is a help to someone else.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Same here. I used one of the Lidl vouchers before Christmas to buy stuff for the food bank and I've kept it up since. I have a neighbour who has storage boxes outside their front door to collect items so it makes it really easy. They have a website as well which lists what they need in priority order so I know what to buy.8

Today I had a hygienist appointment. I dressed in my red/mint green patterned skirt, grey top and mint green cardigan - I like to think that I was a nice splash of colour in the dentist chair
After the dentist DH and I drove and got a coffee and bacon bap we then parked up looking over the sea (only a 10 minute walk from our house). Its something we don't do enough of, it was really nice even though its a very dull and cloudy day.
This afternoon I will walk down to the surgery in the village to collect my prescription. Then I will do my sewing.Debt free and Keeping on Track6 -
I just went for a longer walk for about an hour. I wore the pencil skirt I forgot I had with a cobalt blue jumper. I like that skirt as it isn't too dressy for a pencil skirt so it's easy to wear daily. It's quite thick material too so good for cold weather. I had the telephone appointment today and the GP is sending the prescription for Pregabalin to the pharmacy. I think I'm going to apply for PIP. I did consider if before but I couldn't be bothered to fill out the form but my SIL told me about a local disability place that helped her. I should have done it years ago when I got diagnosed really.
Something weird happened as I started getting Facebook notifications from a FB account I hadn't used since 2008. I thought I had deleted it but it must have only been deactivated. I saw an old photo of me at a party and I look so young and my hair was coloured light blonde then!I was thinking about what has happened since 2008. So long ago now. I cannot believe I am still living in a house in an area I really don't like 13 years on! I deleted the FB account today anyway.
I'm about to carry on with this book but it is starting to drag so I might start another one instead and donate this one.
Oh yes, the colouring book was quite fun. It does absorb your attention. I have an elephant picture today.6 -
good afternoon lovely ladies.Love to hear about your outfits.
Well today, whilst having lunch, I watched an episode of Marie Kondo, it inspired me to sort out my boots and shoes. I have some really nice ones that I bought a couple of years ago but just never got round to wearing any of them, mainly because I hate the feel of new shoes. So I have decided to wear them round the house to break them in. Then hopefully by the time lockdown and some of the restrictions are lifted and I can start going out again they will all be nice and comfortable to wear and ready to look fab-u-lous. 😂. Then I can throw away some of my older ones that are getting a bit past their best before date.No walk today.....the wind is really biting, it stings my face, especially my scar so I won't bother. I didnt have to go shopping or anything so I am just staying nice and cosy.Hope you are all well and still fabbing. I have given myself a mini face peel today and will do a manicure later whilst watching TV.7 -
Talking of outfits, I was amused (and a bit sad) to hear that some elderly people are really getting dressed up and wearing lipstick to have their innoculations! 😊
On a more serious note, some over 80s are getting worried because today's press briefings are saying they are moving on to over 70s and they think they may have been missed out. The large centres may be very efficient (I'm hoping to be sent to Salisbury or Winchester cathedral 🤔😁) but the 'don't call us' method is frustrating as they can't call the GP to find out. Hopefully, in time, more local centres will come on stream.
I'm glad you made the most of your little trip Mrs Porridge, the 'picnic' in the car sounds fun. I noticed yesterday that there were lots of cars parked up on the waterfront when we went into the city.
Hope the medication makes you feel better when it comes Wednesday, although I suppose it takes a while to kick in. I think you're doing brilliantly to stick to your daily exercise, no wonder the skirt fits again. 😊
Not much happening here. Other than cooking, I've just been reading today. I did shower and do my hair though so sticking with all beauty routines. 😊7 -
Just watching the covid update......Hancock has just said that overs 80s are still top of the agenda and will not be overlooked. Apparently some areas have actually already vaccinated most of the over 80s cohort and are ready to move down the list. For example Slough had a particular mention because they are ahead of themselves. It certainly is impressive the way they are cracking on. My sister went to one of the large hubs yesterday for her jab and she said it was being run like clockwork.7

Omg LL, Marie Kondo really gets on my nerves .I think it's the rebel in me , that can't handle such restrictive advice 🤣🤣🤣
Hope the new meds help WEDNESDAY XX"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Thanks LL. I've given up on the press conferences as they wind me up. I'm glad to hear Matt Hancock has moved quickly to reassure people. I think some areas are ahead of others, for various reasons, but I'm not 80 + and worried.
I put the Flaxseed oil on as a serum today. We've been in so much with the heating on that a bit of extra moisturising is good.
I did some online banking too, shifting money around to the best accounts I have while the rates last. So not a totally unproductive day. 😊7 -

Hope the new meds help WEDNESDAY XXMy DIL told me to watch "The Home Edit". I hated it - I just can't stand really gobby loud people - at least Marie has a nice quiet voice and gentle demeanour. The first episode in the Home Edit they were doing Reese Witherspoons closet. I had to switch off - they were just so raucous, jumping up and down and squealing. 😂🤣8
