I had a bit of a mini clear out- little and often seems to be key for me. I am not a hoarder but the amount of stuff I have donated last year and the year before must have kept a charity shop in business for weeks, I want to be purposeful in spending on objects and clothing. Money is a tool and I want to use it with purpose and intent. I really want to do stuff with intention and reduce my weight by a few kg.5

savingfortomorrow said:I will share with you this word of advice fennel is a diuretic and makes one pee a lot. If you like herbal teas try the European shops in your area as the flavours are wonderful and much cheaper than pukka teas.5

I'm gradually easing my eating (and drinking😉) back to normal. We'll have a special meal on NYE, enjoy the weekend and then back to my usual healthy eating. I bought limited goodies for Christmas, just things I really enjoy (cheese, cherry liqueurs, chocolate marzipan, plain crisps) and I've just been having a small amount each day. I'll try to finish them by Sunday and DH will help with the savouries. Drinking more water is one of the things I need to do Wednesday. It's not the time of year for cold water so I'll probably have hot Ribena or similar. I usually get through loads of 'builders' tea in a day and that can be dehydrating.
I've had a lovely shower and pamper session this morning. DH was on the phone to an old friend in Australia so I didn't feel like I was hogging the bathroom. I have put leggings on but with a very nice honey coloured longline jumper so I feel smart.
I like hooded cardigans too. I think they're softer and more comfortable than thicker hoodies. Is it the full length one you ordered from Wallis Tiggger? 🤔 I bought 2 new ones recently to add to one from last year. I think I'm going to ritually throw my old red one in the bin. It's so scruffy, it even has flecks of paint on it from past DIY. If we're going to stay in Tier 4/lockdown for any length of time I need to feel good. That old jumper, although it's comfortable, makes me feel like a bag lady. I'm going to put make up on more often too. I often don't bother if I'm not going out but now I know it's so easily removed with the Clinique product I'll make more effort.
I thought more about the eating in the street yesterday. Definitely fish & chips is OK. As a teenager, we'd often buy a bag of chips walking home from the cinema. DH and I have often bought a fish & chip supper and sat by the sea wall in Lyme Regis. We've had them in Weymouth too but sat at tables on the quay for those. Sometimes i think I'd call it a picnic. I remember a friend and I meeting for lunch one summer and we chose to buy M&S goodies and go to the park rather than sit indoors.
I don't think we'll venture out today. It's wet and miserable here and, having blow dried my hair, I don't want to ruin it. 😉 Try to eep safe and happy everyone. 😊4 -

I did venture out today to pick up a skincare order from Boots, I’d blow dried my hair too and came home with curls from the damp drizzle, so you’ve made a wise decision Maman. My only sale shopping has been some skincare gift sets from Clarins with 25% off - I ordered my serum one and they had a moisturiser set in store, these are never usually left but this is a very strange year - not helped on Christmas Eve when the retail park flooded and the nearby Tesco’s car park had to be closed causing chaos. - I was safely sitting at home but have benefitted today 🙂 I now have enough of my usual skincare “in stock” to keep me going for most of next year, all purchased with 25% off, so very MSE. They all come in lovely vanity bags which I fill with toiletries and donate to our local women’s refuge, a nice way to recycle the bags as I won’t use them.
Stay safe everyone and keep fabbing everyone 😘5 -
That's a lovely cardigan Tiggger, I hope it's a keeper for you.
I do the same with gift sets now and around Mothers Day. The 'freebies' that come are good too. I've enjoyed using the Clarins Beauty Flash balm that I came by this way. I love the idea of using the bags for the refuge. I usually send mine to the CS but could fill them with toiletries for the food bank like deodorant and other essentials. Thanks for the tip. 😊5 -
My self isolation period ends in approx 5 hours 😂.I have been thinking about 2020 and although it’s been hugely unsettling and scary, it hasn’t been all bad. We have; decorated and decluttered the house, foraged for wild garlic, undertook language classes, taught the children to ride their bikes, grew sunflowers, read lots of books, reconnected with lots of friends, had a couple of months of unemployment (first time in my life) and got a kitten. I probably wouldn’t have done half of this if 2020 hadn’t been what it was.
I’m not sure what I want to do in 2021, but I want to have more excitement and adventure - visit new places, try new foods and meet new people. In terms of fabbing it’s loosing weight, something I just have failed to do in the past. I am saving up for a designer handbag, which I’m hoping to buy before the summer. It’s more money than I have ever spent, but I figured it’s better to get one amazing item rather than lots of little ones.6 -
You forgot the shed chanie! That was a great 2020 achievement! 🤣5

For the last few years, I have done charity shoe boxes and a Christmas toy appeal. In 2021, I want to focus on the Christmas toy appeal and the food bank for now. I’m pretty good at finding bargains, so I think I could do well.4

Woohoo, my self isolation is finally over.6

Hi, just seen this thread and keen to join. Working at home means I've been wearing trackkies all the time, and now can only fit in these elasticated clothes
also tend to keep best china for 'special' along with clothes, and things in general so need encouragement to use fab things and be abit more fab and less frumpy generally. Looking forward to reading the thread and hopefully edging away from the frump!
