A quick heads up from me on my first day of unemployment...
Deciem (makers of The Ordinary skincare) are doing 23% off all products in November, which they have done for a few years now. The Ordinary products are pretty cheap anyway, but thought I’d give you the heads up, in case you all wanted to stock up.6 -
Hello Ladies,
LL I hope you will be over your 'lurgy' soon. It is good to know that you are doing well with your online clothes sales, I hope you continue to do well with your selling and buying. Thank you for your comment about my poetry. I actually perform my poetry at the Open Mic events, not just read them aloud.
Thank you Chanie, thankfully writing is not a skill that has been impacted negatively throughout this ongoing Pandemic and I have been fortunate to find some creative writing groups to take part in and my regular Poetry Open Mic events have both resumed, so I am getting in touch again with fellow writers and meeting new writers.
I lost my balance on the top step of my stairs in my home and fell on the 1st landing. I landed on my left arm, winded myself and hurt my right knee. I was completely winded and struggled to get up. I finally got onto my knees, then my daughter took hold of my right arm and helped me to my feet. I have 2 new bruises on my left thigh, but came away relatively unscathed.
Even though I was in a bit of pain on Saturday, I did not want to miss the event that I had booked a free ticket for in Clapham Library which was about Black British Women In Theatre. It was a very informative, engaging event with enough humour to make me laugh out loud. There were some brilliant poetry performances from the founding members of the Munirah Theatre Company.6 -
I've been staying in and trying to save money for the move so I have been listening to free podcasts on Amazon Prime and today I read a thriller that I bought for a few pounds.
I wanted to do a challenge so I'm on day 7 of no alcohol. I felt so rough after going out the weekend before last that I wanted a break. I haven't even listened to the hypnotherapy CD yet but I will start that tonight as it can't hurt.
I've been tired this past week as my husband was on nights. I have just been trying to rest during the days but still getting up relatively early to try and improve my sleep schedule.
I do like it when it gets cosy in the evenings at this time of year. I got a lighted Christmas decoration down from one of the boxes to put in my living room.
I was going through the boxes looking for my winter clothing the past week and I could not get one box down from the top of the wardrobe as it was stuck and I was getting irritated! When I got the box down I opened it up and I didn't even recognise what the clothes were at first! I decided to go through my wardrobe (yet again) and get rid of anything I don't want.
I made a pile of "maybe" clothes and tried them on and I have bags for the chazzer with 4 coats, 2 skirts, 4 tops, 2 cardigans and a top.
Glad you were okay Sugarbaby after your fall!
Chanie - I like those trainers. I might get some like that too. They must be more flattering than the lower heel type. What do you tend to wear them with?

im trying to find a signature scent. I could do with a new bottle of perfume and I really want to find something that is amazing on me. But the problem is that I don’t know what type of scents I like. I need to pop to town tomorrow, so Im going to write a list of scents in different families (eg floral, fruity, oriental) and see if I can narrow it down.5 -
Chanie, I love Clinique Happy. It's very light n fresh.I get headaches with heavy, musky scents 🙃
SUGAR I hope you're ok after your fall xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

candy I used to wear Happy when I went out clubbing in my younger days. I’d wake up hungover and reeking of Happy so it makes me feel sick now 😂.Funnily enough, I can’t smell musk. I was trying a perfume in a shop and couldn’t smell it at all, no matter how much I sprayed. The SA said that some people just can’t smell musk.5

Ouch Sugarbaby.....hope you are ok. Do take care, as we age we no longer bounce. 😂.I am a Clinique girl too. My go to is CK1. I can't wear the heavy scents I used to love, they give me headaches.Wednesday.....I am still refining my wardrobe too. I am going to get rid of some more this week. I have ordered two new coats off eBay, so I will probably get rid of some coats too. I think in general I'm just changing my style a bit, definitely more colour. One coat is a sort of delphinium blue, the other is black and white tweed. I have also gone for knee length rather than calf length. I don't think calf length suit me any more. They make me feel dumpy. 😂. Maybe I'm shrinking with age, 😱
I also bought a few bits from a chazza, a red cardigan and a red sweater. Definitely no more browns or greys...... at least not next to my face. Ok for trousers or skirts if I team them up with brighter knitwear.I was reading about colour the other day and it said that greys and browns were often colours people wore when they were depressed. As you know a few months ago I suddenly noticed just how much browns and greys seemed to be taking over my wardrobe, I must have been feeling a bit low without realising it. Anyway I will be going through my wardrobe again this week and just getting rid. I wont keep any brown or grey knitwear or tops, not even for gardening or decorating.Still got my lurgy, still coughing. Not much energy so just coasting really. Nice sunny day here so will try and get some fresh air, blast those germs away.7 -
LL I absolutely hate grey n brown clothes .Haven't seen anyone that suits them really. My Mum's 77, n us so stylish.Wears lots of pops of colour, and looks years younger than her beige, grey n brown wearing friends 😀
Hope You get well asap xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

I needed to pop to the shops today and walked 5+ miles there and back. Whilst at the shops, I started my perfume hunt. A SA once told me I seemed to like floral perfumes, so I thought I’d start with that fragrance family first. Although it’s early days, I’m really liking Gucci Bloom, so that may end up being my new perfume.

It feels really cold to me now the weather has cooled down! I was wondering what to wear out today and I found this article.
What to Pack & Wear for Different Winter Climates (10°C, 0°C, -0°C) - Travel Hacks & Tips | The Travel Insider
I'm wearing my thermal long sleeved top under a knitted tunic with my warm leggings and fake DM boots today. I did buy some wrist warmer gloves as I read on IG that if you keep your wrists warm your fingers feel warm. I'm not sure it's cold enough for gloves today, though. I might take them just in case.
I need to go out for a routine blood test this morning and I'm really craving a hot drink and some toast but I'm not allowed to eat as it is a lipid test.
I ordered some new pyjamas for me from George as they have some reductions at the moment and some T-shirts and joggers for my husband.
I am on day 10 of no alcohol today. I am going out this weekend for our wedding anniversary to see a film and go for a meal. I might have a couple of glasses of wine Saturday night, though. I am finally going to get my engagement resized this weekend. I cannot believe I still didn't get that done.
I might buy some flowers from Coop on the way home today.:)2025 GOALS
