Hello Ladies,
I went to Streatham Odeon yesterday with my daughter to watch The Last Duel. We both enjoyed this film. I gave it 8/10 and my daughter 7/10. I used my CEA card when I was booking the tickets so that saved me £9.
Yesterday evening I finally rejoined the Open Mic event at Blackfriars Settlement. I performed 2 of my poems: Me Waan Me Space and Naw Jude. They were both very well received and I got a lot of compliments. It was good to be amongst other amateur writers. One of the writers, had self published a book of his poems which also had reproductions of his vibrant art, so I bought a copy of his book in which he wrote a personal message for me.

I booked the train tickets for my trip to York. I'm looking forward to it. I was trying to think of the last place I went to by train (except for Southend) and it has been years. I think it was probably Brighton but that was ages ago!
I am feeling better after resting and not going out so much for a few weeks. I have reduced my dose of Pregabalin and have lost a few pounds again. I finished the course of antibiotics for my sinus infection yesterday although it doesn't feel like it has worked. I might go to the Chinese herbalist next week to see if they can suggest anything as the doctor doesn't seem to be helping at all!
I am out tonight to a music quiz at a bar with a few friends.
I am drinking this weekend but I did buy a hypnotherapy CD that is meant to help you reduce your alcohol consumption so I am going to start that next week. I am going to start a healthy eating plan next week too as I would like to lose a few pounds before seeing my relative after so many years, lol.
My cat has to go to the vet next week to have some teeth out. She is wearing a cone collar at the moment and she hates it!
We got sent some paperwork about the searches on our house that we need to fill out. The people we are buying from have found a house they want finally and are going for a second viewing.
I feel quite busy at the moment!
It is extremely mild here in London. I was going to just wear a vest top and cardigan with my skirt, tights and boots out tonight.6 -
New shoes!!I took DD out to get her some new boots and came across these and snapped them up. I’ve wanted another pair of wedge trainers for ages and these were under £30.5

Hello Ladies,
I went to see No Time To Die for the 2nd time on Monday and I enjoyed it even more than the 1st time I watched it.
Yesterday I went to Blackfriars Settlement for a vegetarian lunch followed by an exhibition of some of our creative work we produced in courses with the facilitators Will and Drew. I have both pieces of my collage work displayed on the wall and my 2 videos of my 2 poems Me Waan Me Space and I'm Not A Racialist. My 2 videos got everyone laughing, as they were supposed to.Me Waan Me Space is a poem written in the voice of an elderly Black Caribbean woman who is fiercely independent and living in her own house and how she is living through the Pandemic. The poem I'm Not A Racialist is in the voice of a young, white South London girl who is adamant she is not a 'racialist' but then reveals all the ways in which she holds racist views. So both of my poems deal with serious subjects but in a way that does not leave the listener feeling uncomfortable, but leaves them relaxed and laughing out loud.
I am going to the cinema this evening to watch Dear Evan Hansen with my son. We are both looking forward to this film5 -
I'd love to read those poems or see the videos @sugarbaby125. I'm intrigued. If I lived closer I'd be at the exhibition PDQ.
Glad you found trainers you liked @chanie. I don't need wedges but definitely on the lookout for something casual. I wore boots with my maxi dress yesterday which was OK but not really cold enough. If I'd had something casual I'd have worn them. I love my Skechers but they're a bit too casual (and old) IYSWIM.5 -
Hello Ladies,
Maman as soon as Blackfriars Settlement get around to putting the videos on You Tube, I will let you know. The exhibition is only a small one and it comes down on the 31st October.
I went to watch the film Dear Evan Hansen last night with my son and we both really enjoyed the film. For my son it was 10/10 and for me it was a 9/10.6 -
Hello Ladies,
Last night my neighbour and friend came with me to Poetic Unity's Open Mic event at Black Cultural Archives. It was another good evening. I performed my poems Grief and Man Oh Man and they were both really well received.6 -
Hello Lovely Ladies. How are we all. Sorry I have been awol but it's been manic here. I now have a lurgy so am finally forced to rest. Lol. Was due a covid booster yesterday but thought better of it what with being full of lurgy and all so I've postponed it for a couple of weeks. I am well over the 6 months and probably have little protection now so I'll just have to lie low till I can get it sorted. It's no hardship I've got plenty to keep me occupied. The decluttering continues apace, the ymca came and picked up some unwanted furniture and larger items so I can now go through the small stuff and get rid. It would be nice to get it all cleared by Christmas so I can get the final room decorated in the new year. My little business has done well this past couple of weeks, it's coming along nicely. Wont make me rich but every little helps. 😉Apart from the lurgy I'm as fit as a butchers dog, enjoying life, seeing friends, getting out and about. It's good that life is a bit more "normal".Wednesday.....good to see you have reduced your meds and that the weight is coming off again.SUgarbaby well done on the poetry readings. I couldn't write a poem to save my life. 😁.Hope you are all well. Enjoy the extra hour this weekend.8

Helen sorry you aren’t feeling well, hope you get better soon. I think you are right to put off your booster jab until you feel better. I only recently had my second jab because of my ongoing cough. Luckily, my cough has nearly gone. Pleased to read your business is going well. I may try online selling myself, as I have quite a few things i could sell.
sugar I enjoy reading about how you are progressing with your writing, because it is symbol of life going on and things getting back to a new normal.
