Hello Ladies,
Mini Riot it is great that you are a fellow writer. I hope you finish your book. How long has it taken you so far? Are you really disciplined about writing some of your book each day?
I would never attempt a book as it would feel like too much hard work. Writing has always been a pleasure for me, when I am only writing poems and short stories, as they come to me so easily.
This pandemic is not over, we are still living with it and it looks like globally the World is going to be living with it for years to come if not forever. I did not become lazy as a response to this pandemic, but I have to be more careful about the events that I choose to participate in, as I really cannot afford to get Covid again after I was extremely ill last time around.5 -
I went to some chazzers yesterday to look for warm clothes and did very well. All the clothes I bought were £1, £2 or £3 and I spent £15. For myself I got a red top and a red Warehouse cardigan, a navy long sleeved dress and also a black Principles coat for £2! I bought my husband 4 jumpers which were all in very good condition and also a teddy for my dog. I was very pleased.:) I only went in two shops so I was very lucky with my haul.
I then went to my chiropodist appointment. I said I hoped that was the last time I saw her as I should have moved house by the next time I would normally go there! My feet felt lovely and soft afterwards. I booked my haircut for Friday too and I will dye my hair that day too.
I have booked the restaurant at the coast for Saturday and we will go to a couple of bars after the meal and then we will travel back to London and go to a DJ night and meet some people we know there.
I bought some new gloves and a scarf this week as well as some gummies to help me sleep and some face cream. They are arriving today so I have to stay in while my husband is taking my dog to the vet for a check up. He is going to his Mum's house after as she has made him a cake as it is his birthday this week. I did buy him a plant based lemon cake from Sainsbury's too.
I think I am going to have a bubble bath now and get dressed and then read a book on my kindle. Nice and cosy day indoors. I will go out for a walk later on.4 -
Hello lovely ladies.wow....Wednesday what a fab haul from the chazza. Well done. Especially the coat for £2. Don't you just love it when you hit the jackpot like that.
Yesterday I turned up for my flu jab to be told I wasn't on the system and they had ran out of vaccines anyway, 😂🤣. Hey ho. I have rebooked both flu and covid jabs for the end of the month.I have already been for my walk, time for lunch and then a spot more decluttering. It's a slow process but I'm getting there, bit by bit. Must admit getting a bit fed up with it all now. I'll do this next lot and then have a break until after Christmas. You're right sugarbaby.....the pandemic is not over yet. If I seem overcautious it's because I am well overdue my booster jab so I am being that extra bit careful until I can get it. Silly to undo all my good work. The bright lights can wait a bit .....😂🤣. I don't mind, I'm happy enough, I've got plenty to keep me busy and amused.Fab wise, I've had my haircut, only locally because I'm avoiding the city centre for now. All our Superdrug shops are in the city centre, so I finally got round to trying an online shop, just spent the minimum for the free delivery. So now I've sussed it out I will now do a stock up.5 -
Wednesday and helen lots of fabbing going on with you both.
I cleaned out the food cupboard today and got rid of any out of date items. The last time I went through the cupboard properly was last summer, so most items were in date. Tomorrow I’ll go through my plastic containers cupboard as we are overrun with containers and lids that don’t fit.
I had my massage today, which was lovely and well needed. I had a gift voucher to use towards it, so it wasn’t too expensive.4 -
Chanie - I bought some wedge trainers/boots (?) from New Look as well as a black top and a canvas tote bag.
I cleaned out my food cupboard too last night. I didn't have anything out of date, luckily. I have loads of tins of kidney beans. I think I'm going to make a few veggie chillis soon.
The weather is so mild. I will probably complain once it gets cold as it will be a shock to my system.
My husband booked his Covid booster jab for next week. I have to wait until the end of November to book mine.
People I talk to from the US online keep talking a film they liked called Love Hard. It's a romcom and it's on Netflix. I got Netflix back recently and I might watch it.:) I think it's the right time to start watching Christmas films!

My new purchase….My last bag broke, so i ahem ‘needed’ a new one. I found it on eBay, BNWT, saving £250 from the in store price.5

Chanie, what a brilliant purchase that new bag of yours was. I hope you use it again and again.5

Thanks sugar. I’m pleased with my bargain.
I cleaned out another cupboard today (Plastic storage containers for the kitchen. Im not posh enough for Tupperware, so it mainly the ones that come from the takeaway). I seem to have about 30 lids and barely any containers, so I paired as many as I could and got rid of the rest. I also took a bag of toys to the Salvation Army for their Xmas toy appeal and wrapped up some presents.

@sugarbaby125 Short stories are notoriously hard to write, it really is an art form, so is poetry. I never found my medium with either of those two, I prefer log form journalism/ article style pieces and novels.
Have had a trashy novella published for Xcite and an adult romantics novel for Totally Bound/ Bonnier publishing but that was 4-5 years ago. I don't overly enjoy writing erotica, and I wasn't particularly happy with the end result, hopefully I've improved as a writer since then.
I think I'm a better journalist than I am a writer personally, but I do enjoy writing crime, though my next book is the first in a YA fantasy series. I'm sooo close to the end.
I'm not disciplined AT ALL when it comes to my writing, well I am for my paid work (copywriting etc..) but for non-paid, terrible. Sometimes I have frenetic bursts where I will write 5-10K worth of words in a day, and keep this up for a bit, say a week, other times, when I am in the groove I can consistently do 2K a day, over say 3 months. But I always take breaks in the middle of a project, so getting round to finishing and getting motivated to finish is a major challenge for me.
And yes, the pandemic will probably rumble on for some time unfortunately, I will have to get over my hesitancy over getting Covid I suppose, eventually. Sorry to hear you had it badly before, that sounds awful.

Mini Riot, Wow you are an established writer and journalist. I am in awe of your writing talent.
I have been writing poetry and short stories since I was in Primary school. I have only ever had a single piece of poetry that I entered into a poetry competition a few years ago bring me acclaim as a writer. I would like to have a book of my poems published, but I am too lazy to try to get a publisher to recognise my work. I always have so much pleasure writing, that I have always believed that I should keep my writing as a pleasurable hobby.
Thank goodness for all the talented writers like yourself that our happy to use your writing talents to write work in it's many forms to share with members of the public like myself.
I am an absolute voracious reader of novels, novellas, fiction books of all genres and some non fiction books. I also read magazines, newspapers and online content.5
