Wednesday and Helen sorry to see you are both unwell. I didn’t want to post my own woes, but I haven’t been very well myself. I’ve had a cough for a few weeks now and it’s just not going away. GP has referred me for a chest X-ray, but thinks my cough could go back to when I had covid. I’ve now developed a cold. I think I’m just a bit run down as I’ve been putting in the hours at work recently. A bit of self care is in order, so on my way back from my X-ray I stopped off for a nice lunch.

Hello Ladies,
Wednesday. LL and Chanie, I hope you all enjoy much better health soon. Hugs to you all.
I went to Music Appreciation yesterday afternoon and I had a really enjoyable time with the group.
In the evening I went to Leilani restaurant for a 2 course Caribbean meal with cocktails with my daughter. I had a Groupon that had cost me £18.40 after a discount, for food and cocktails that would have cost £67.80, so I saved myself £49.40.After our delicious meal we stayed for Karaoke. I sang 4 songs:
1. I Can't Help Falling In Love With You by Elvis
2. Hero by Enrique Iglesias
3. Help Me Make It Through The Night by John Holt
4. All Around The World by Lisa Stansfield.
We left karaoke at 10.30pm rather than stay until the usual finish time of 11.30pm, as I needed to get up really early this morning.
I went to Brighton for a day trip with a group of people who are participants in various courses at Blackfriars Settlement, who were paying our train fares for the day trip.I enjoyed sitting on the pebble beach with the sun warming my body. There were 24 of us. The majority of us decided to have a fish and chip lunch in the Harry Ramsden's restaurant a few minutes from the beach. It was cooked to order and it certainly lived up to the reputation that Harry Ramsden's has earned itself. I opted for haddock and chips rather than cod or plaice and I seriously enjoyed every mouthful as I rarely treat myself to fish and chips in a restaurant.

I love Brighton and I love your song choices Sugarbaby.
Sorry that LL and Chanie are both ill feeling too. I think we all could do with some self care. Everyone on here should do it in fact.
I read something on Instagram about self care the other day. Self care isn't vanity, it's sanity.
I just relaxed yesterday. I went for a walk, bought some new tupperware and a fruit salad and then made a batch of soup at home. I then watched The Weeknd (Ihim) doing a live show in Brazil on YouTube and then watched some episodes of the show Charmed. I put my feet up literally on a footstool and just chilled completely.
I have only got up now as my husband did a night shift last night. I had a bubble bath, made myself a fruit salad (as I thought buying them isn't very MSE) and had a cup of coffee. I don't think I will even bother going for a walk today. I will just sit in my garden to get some vitamin D while playing fetch with my dog.
I read in a magazine that echinacea has been proven to be very good for colds. I might buy some next week from Holland & Barrett.
I want to go out next weekend (I have a concert and I want to see the new James Bond film) so I'm hoping if I keep this up and the meds kick in that I will be okay to go out by then.6 -
Hello Ladies,
I went to Poetic Unity's Open Mic event yesterday evening. It was a special evening for me, performing my poems, as my son and daughter came along to watch me perform and my daughter also recorded my performance.
1. I Wear A Mask Because
2. Behind The Mask
3. My Name Is Dolores
I have had a very busy week, so now I have no plans for most of next week, so that I can have some much needed rest.

sugar your poems have really enticing titles, particularly the covid related ones.
Wednesday ‘self care isn’t vanity, it’s sanity’, isn’t a phrase I’ve heard before, but I really like it.I sent OH out this morning to look for petrol, as we were running low. Luckily, he managed to find a petrol station that actually had petrol and he didn’t have to wait too long. We had to cancel a few of the children’s activities this week due to running low on petrol, so I’m pleased we were able to fill up.5 -
That must be so annoying about the petrol. My brother said he drove to 11 petrol stations the other night and they were all out of petrol! He just drove home afterwards.
I have spent so much today. I wanted a new outfit for next weekend so I bought three new dresses and a butterfly necklace from New Look. I also had to stock up on household stuff and I bought some makeup, conditioner and tights etc... I had to get money out for my massage this week and I also went into the local shop to buy a few things. I spent close to £300 today. Eek. We are supposed to be saving up to move. Oh well. I didn't need all of it strictly but at least we are all stocked up for a while.
I am actually feeling better after resting for a few days and the medication has started working. I am really looking forward to next weekend. I am going to get pizza and then seeing the new James Bond film on Friday and then we are having pizza again (!) at a different restaurant and the concert on Saturday. I didn't want to eat pizza on Friday as I wanted Mexican but lots of the restaurants at the O2 were booked up as there is a concert there Friday. Luckily I like pizza!
I have to stay in tomorrow for all the deliveries, lol.

I feel as if I haven't posted for ages but I do read every day to keep up with everyone.😉
It's been all go here for the past week with landscapers blitzing our garden. The old asbestos garage is gone! 😁 New fencing is almost complete and the ground has been levelled ready for seeding. We went to choose a new shed last week so that a base can be built ready for it. It's been quite cathartic watching the progress, sort of seeing order come out of chaos.
I have had a few opportunities to get dressed up. Now that the weather has turned colder we have to rethink what to wear. We met friends for a meal and I wore some high waisted, wide legged trousers (very Katharine Hepburn) with a matching fine knit. At the weekend, I wore my new hooded cardigan and got compliments. It wasn't cheap but I think I'll get loads of wear from it as it's perfect with jeans.

I hope you're pleased with your purchases from New Look @Wednesday2000. I was in the city centre yesterday but decided against going near any shops as it was pretty manic because of payday for so many people.
Thought of you again this morning @helensbiggestfan when your namesake was in the newspaper at some promotional event for L'Oréal. I'm sure I'm right and she's rethinking her hair but it's not very flattering at the moment IMO.

Not much planned for today . I'm not bothered about that as I enjoy quiet days between the busy ones. I wonder if it's an after effect of lockdowns that we've got used to staying at home. I enjoy myself when I make the effort to get out but I sometimes have to push myself. 🤔6 -
Hello Ladies,
I was just returning from doing some top up shopping and other errands in Camberwell and on my way home, on Coldharbour Lane, I saw the actress Lorraine Chase.4 -
That's interesting @sugarbaby125. I remember her from years ago when she was doing those adverts with her accent. I think 'The water in Majorca doesn't taste like what it oughter' was one of hers. 🤣
I googled and found that she's almost exactly the same age as @helensbiggestfan. Did you notice how she was dressed? I'm curious. 🤔7 -
Maman she was dressed well in attractive clothes. Her hair is still really long and she has more grey hair, but she looked really stylish.6
