You sound so much more cheerful @Wednesday2000. Did you fancy any of the frames or just looking? 🤔
John Lewis has launched a new Everyday range. It's been around in homeware for a while but this is their autumn/winter collection of ladies' fashions. They look like good basics which will be popular. Unfortunately, much of the range is already sold out online so do hope they keep up with demand. I fancy a pair of joggers on there. I'm not surprised at the interest as it was featured in my paper today and I heard a discussion on Radio 4 about it.

I called into Asda this morning to click and collect some bedding which is a gift for DGD. I had a quick browse in the clothes while I was there just to see what was around. They had some really good vintage style knitwear. I'm sure it wouldn't wash particularly well but it looked fun just to cheer up the winter.
I liked this jumper but not sure yellow is my colour.

I liked this too, good for layering when it's really cold.

Boiler man came and did the service so that's one thing out of the way. What's pleasing is that DH is getting a sense of achievement as each task is done so not so overwhelmed.
While I was out I bought a tray of perennial cyclamen. I've enjoyed the summer bedding so much, I'm determined to have some colour during the autumn winter.

Hi fabbers,
it was my birthday recently. I normally take the day off work and will go shopping or have some beauty treatments. I don’t get much child free time, so I always look forward to having a day to myself. But, things are hectic at work and also settling DS into secondary school (mainly keeping on top of homework) so I just didn’t bother. I don’t think I’ll get any benefit from a ‘me day’ at the moment. Hopefully, things will settle down over the next few weeks and I’ll be able to enjoy a day off. For now, it will have to be an I O Me.
At least now I can start using my new bag, which was my birthday present.
Maman I really like the Everyday range. As I’m sure most of you know. I shop lots in Uniqlo, because I’m a big fan of basics, so the John Lewis range is right up my street.

Happy belated birthday chanie - good idea to save your ‘me’ day until things are a bit less hectic. In the meantime, enjoy your new bag 👜6

I didn't see any glasses I liked which was a shame Maman. I just got a call that the very budget pair I ordered are ready to be picked up. I said that I would try this pair for a while and then go back in there to see what I liked in the much more expensive shop.
Happy Belated Birthday Chanie.:)
I booked my flu jab at Boots for next month but I got a text saying I could get it done at my GP. I don't normally so I don't know if it is a new thing after Covid. Maybe everyone is eligible for a free flu jab now?
I met my friend that I haven't seen for two years the other day and barely recognised her. She has let her hair go completely grey and she has lost a lot of weight. The hair suits here but it was a shock as she used to have dyed black hair.
It made me think that I have had my natural hair colour for 12 years now and I am bored and want a change. I'm going to look online and get my husband to buy me some hair dye on his way home and pick up my glasses too. I'm going to go much darker. Since I did the fibro treatment (exposing myself to hours of daylight each day) my hair has gone so much lighter and I don't like it.
I was also talking to my uncle and he said that a couple of my aunts are still grey-free and one is at least 15 years older than me so I must take after that side of my family and that is why I don't have any grey yet.

Hello Ladies,
Belated birthday wishes Chanie. I hope you had an lovely day and enjoy using your bag.
Thank you all for your good wishes about my son's degree result.
I went to have a steak and chips meal with a cocktail each at Leilani with my son on Tuesday evening and it tasted delicious. After the meal, my son left Leilani restaurant and I stayed for the Karaoke. For some unknown reason hardly any other singers turned up. So I sang 8 songs that evening:
1.Hutt So Good by Susan Cadogan
2.Fever by Peggy Lee
3. It's Now Or Never by Elvis
4. Lean On Me by Bill Withers
5. That's The Wonder Of You by Elvis
6. No Matter What by Boyzone
7. I'll Never Fall In Love Again by Tom Jones
8. Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You by Andy Williams
Yesterday I went to see my older daughter, my son-in law, my grandson, his partner, my Great grandson and my 2 granddaughters in Andover. I left home just after 9am and arrived home just after 10.30pm. I had the most amazing day surrounded by all of my lovely family in my Grandson's new council house. As the 1st and only other resident of the house was disabled it means that my grandson's Mum (my elder daughter who is disabled), has full access to his home and can be just as independent as when she is at home.6 -
I did book a free flu jab at my GP so I cancelled my one at Boots. I think I am on a vulnerable list since Covid as I got my Covid jabs early for my age group and I didn't used to be eligible for an NHS flu jab. I also got my Covid pass in the post yesterday. My husband didn't get a text about a free flu jab or his Covid pass yet.
My husband bought me some hair dye yesterday, natural chestnut. I think I will do it this weekend. I don't have anything planned to do this weekend. Maybe we will just watch a film or a box set.
I want to go to another concert next month and my husband is trying to buy us tickets this morning.:)
I'm going to order some more skin care as I'm running low and maybe a nice scented candle.2025 GOALS

Hello Ladies,
I went to Poetic Unity at Black Cultural Archives yesterday evening and once again it was such a rich mix of poets. This time is was all mature poets which added yet another dimension to the narrative from all of the poets. Usually there are more young poets with a sprinkling of mature poets.
I am in awe of poets who are able to memorise their work and perform very long, epic poems without any form of prompt.
I had a few compliments about my 2 poems that I performed: The Fat Lady's Reflection and Woman Move Your Eye which I really appreciated.
