Happy New Year to you all. I wonder what 2023 will hold for us all. Last night the kids and I listed a huge list of positive things that we did in 2022 and I couldn't quite believe all of it happened in 1 year. If the same happens this year we are going to be busy. We had a pizza and pudding night and 2 rounds of the board game I bought them for Christmas. It is called outsmarted and is like trivial pursuit but the questions are via an app so updated and they get to use their phones which I thought would appeal and it did. Although I was in bed at midnight they all bundled into my room to wish me happy new year before getting back in their own beds. Early night tonight for me lol.
The younger 2 are with XH today for a day of fun no doubt. At least the weather looks a little dryer today. We might produce a little solar today fingers crossed. I need to look in the freezer for something to eat tonight and I need to try again with the washing. I might even take a meter reading as b.gas are currently trying to sort my account out and they are not receiving meter readings so cant tell me how much the cold spell cost me. To be fair at the moment they are pretty useless and if it weren't for the fact I am on such a good tariff until Nov this year I would have left them. Apparently they should have my account sorted out in the next few months. Already been waiting over a month. I could rant about it but I wont - yet lol.
Might see if there is anything on my 23 things for 2023 list that I can make a start on.

@Crazycatlady2 I like that DD2 can be set as a child, DS & DD1 teens and me an adult so all questions are suited to the individual. Seems fairer even though I haven't won as yet lol.
Sausage casserole for dinner tonight with mash and veg. The freezer really needs a good defrost but will have to do another day as I am far too lazy today for that. I have been entering competitions for most of the morning so have enough to tick that off my list for Jan. I have also made a start on the surveys and managed to cash out £10 (not all from today) which has already been turned into an amazon voucher for next Christmas / birthdays.
Dishwasher has been done but only 1 load of washing managed so far. Will try again tomorrowMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thank you @24ta for de-lurking and saying hello as I sometimes wonder if it is just me here. I do think I have achieved such a lot in the last year and my head is in a better place re XH than last year. Still a way to go but it's heading in the right direction.
Anyway Happy new year to you too

Well we were up bright and early (still wanting more sleep) ready for DD2 to go into school this morning. I dropped her off and came home via lidl to stock up on a few bits we can only get / are cheaper from there. DD1 and DS are not so keen to wake up to get used to it ready for tomorrow when the rest of us go back. I have a PD day and will need to be there all day rather than my half day. We get lunch provided so not all bad. I think most of the day is training for the teachers so us admin staff will be able to use the time to catch up on everything else.
Todays jobs are to finish the washing - would like to do my bed sheets too so bed is lovely and fresh for tonight. Also have a food delivery so will clean the fridge before that gets here. I have taken the decorations down so now need to have a good dust and hoover, and then pop the decorations back in the loft. Today I will also be helping to write DS's letters for work experience as I think we need to get in as early as possible to secure somewhere he might enjoy. And finally I need to be in bed by 10 to stand any chance of getting enough sleep and being able to wake up on time again.
All DD's have gone out and money looks sadder now, but everything is in its own pot so there is sufficient there.

Good afternoon. We are all back at school now and feeling tired as not quite got back into the earlier nights and early starts quite yet. It always improves so will keep going.
Yesterday DD1 passed her driving theory test (yay) so we are all happy. I have also booked the next available practical test for her which is not until the beginning of June! Once we know she is ready we will be on the look out for cancellations. She has her first lesson on sat after having a break for a few weeks so we will see how she gets on. She was hoping to have passed by march time. I said it will just give her more time to save for a car.
At the end of last term at work we picked names out of a hat and wrote something positive about that person. Yesterday I received mine and it was so nice. I can tell it is from someone I work really closely with, but not sure which one. It doesn't matter as it is just so lovely. Also at work the lady I work with has mentioned dropping a day so she becomes part time. I'm wondering if I could gain those extra hours maybe and do part of her work. I know shortly that I will need extra hours or money to keep the work coach at bay. I am on a lot less per hour so her days pay would cover many extra hours for me? Just not sure what part of her job she could hand over that is my level. Anyway if it is bought up again I may mention that I will need extra hours before long.
Ok I need to do some cleaning as I only have an hour before the school runMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Its quite dark and grey here and seems to have been drizzling all morning. DD1 has gone off on her last scheduled driving lesson. We are guessing she will need a few more before she is ready so hopefully she will get back and they will have been booked and can work out when we need to look for cancellations for her test.
I managed a little clean after work yesterday before a friend came over for a little while. Then the children came home and all was undone! So today there will be more clearing. I really need to get the Christmas decorations back up in the loft as I think I have now found all of the little straggler bits that I missed the first time round, like the festive door mats.
I am still to wash my bedding so that must be done today, more clothes washing, pizza dough needs to be made and the normal homework nagging will take place. I have some sewing to do for DD1 and DS. I am hoping this will save us some money as hopefully the items being mended will then not need replacing. I also need to work on the meal plan for next week and then place my Asda order as that is due today. Ooh need to feed friends animals as well - must not forget them. Shame i am feeling quite lazy today. Oh well I must move and get some of it startedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
