The Best Is Yet To Come

Good afternoon, it is still grey and raining outside although we did have an hour or 2 of sunshine. I got some of the bits sorted yesterday including changing the sheets on my bed which made for a good nights sleep. I haven't washed the bedding as yet as I am still working my way through the uniform and work clothes. Asda order was placed and meal plan kind of done - we know what we will be eating but unsure of what on which day.
I could easily have a nap today so will aim for an early night ready to get back to work tomorrow. Its going to be busy as I still have some bits from last week that were urgent to catch up on. It was leftover pizza for lunch and we have roast chicken for dinner.
This week I will have my first tap lesson in such a long time. I don't know if I will manage the whole lesson but I am hoping it is as fun as I remember it to be. I need to make sure dinner is early that night so I'm not jumping around on a full stomach.
I picked up a few bits from olio this morning, some bread muffins and a cauiliflower, and wondering if the really local lady has stopped as Ive not seen anything from her for a while

@slm6002 all looking good! No doubt you've started moves towards picking up more hours at school? Sounds like a fab solution for you and the school! Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx0

Thank you @Humdinger1. The management know that at some point I will be looking for more hours, it just if there are the hours and money to give will be the main factors. I'm not sure if they would need to pay a higher up person to deal with my managers roll she gives up or if some of the lower jobs could be given to me and then she holds onto the higher bits if that makes sense.
I have just been sent home as not feeling great. 2 others from our team are already off and the 2 left don't want any bugs so sent me away! I plan on doing some work from home so not a whole day lost as long as I can access the new bit that I need. I will be doing the work from my sofa under my blankets (its only filling in online forms so fairly easy but takes a while). I will rest as well, but feeling ill in the office seems worse than at home where I know you can lay down if needed, and if feeling sick you don't have the worry you will be sick in front of everyone else! Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Feeling much better than this morning so hopefully it was just a blip and I can get back to work tomorrow. I got my work done (from the sofa snuggled up nice and warm under my duvet) that was urgent for today so not too much time lost.
Made myself cheese on toast using the leftover baguette from the weekend plus the last scrap of cheese, and returned to my duvet. I think keeping warm is the key. Shame I can't wear my warm hoodie to work, although I do have a lap blanket to keep my legs warm.
One of the kids clubs starts back tonight, so I will take some sewing to keep me busy and warm while I wait. I need to pay for the hire of the hall before then so that might be the next job. I also need to ring the bank so that we can change signatories over - feel this will be a long job (both jobs done, kind of, although waiting for a call back re bank mandate). Our local bank has been closed and every other week they hold a session in Asda carpark under a gazebo. I am hoping that they will be able to take copy of id's etc for us rather than us having to make appointments to go to an actual bank. This will also probably have to wait until half term as the signatories work full time and banks are generally shut at the weekend.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well while my fit bit charges I am sitting still - no point wasting steps lol. Last night I finished sewing DS's torn jumper and DD1's school bag hole up. Kept me busy and warm. Not much else was done yesterday as I was feeling poorly / delicate. Still a little cautious about stomach but much more myself. I replaced the duvets on my bed which meant it was warmer and the reason I think my stomach went funny to begin with - I need extra warmth or I feel ill. Anyway its is toasty in bed now.
I have managed to find my work ID which has been missing since Monday. I knew it was here but couldn't see it on my morning searches. I didn't mind if nothing else got sorted tonight, as long as I found it. I have also been to asda as they are not delivering quite a few bits. Not sure if there is much point in paying for delivery if I have to keep going to local store to collect bits that are missing. Will give it a few more weeks and see if it settles down.
I've managed to get a load of clothes washed and another is in the machine. I need to a few more bits but will make sure today is another early night, even if that is just early to bed and then watching something on the tvMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Another busy day so far. Work was steady as still 1 member of the team down. Then I took the car to have its repairs done. I'm terrible because when they told me a rod needs replacing I just booked it in, not really knowing what was wrong with it, but knowing a rough price. Turns out it was the suspension arm (I'd have remembered that if they had said). Anyway £82 later the car seems much better to drive and the MOT has been passed. I was even in time for all of the school runs and after school clubs.
It is now raining and cold outside and I really could cuddle up under the duvet on the sofa - apart from the fact DD1 has nicked it for an extra layer on her bed. I told her to use her sleeping bag but no she wanted my fluffy soft duvet. Anyway I have my first tap lesson in less than an hour so I cant hibernate as yet. Feeling nervous and wondering if I am fit enough to make it through the night. I also have to get in the dance studio / hall via a door with a code on. Not sure which side of the building this is so getting in might be a challenge in itself.
I also need to get the paperwork for the bank ready for tomorrows visit to Asda carpark where hopefully they will be (as they shut our town branch down). I need to put the bin out once I have emptied all of the inside bins, I need to load the dishwasher and feed the children.

Thank you yes it really was fun. If I can get my fitness up I think I would move up to the improvement class rather than the beginners but how long that will take we will see. What is even better is that I didn't ache this morning either which is great. Perhaps the teacher was easing us in gently as it was the first week back for the others.
I will be happy tomorrow evening as I can just shut the doors once we are all home and no clubs or anything in the evening. I might even treat myself to a new film on the tv. We have been out again tonight at clubs and then dinner once we were home. Will be heading to bed very shortly. DD1 is convinced she is getting up for the gym at 5.30am tomorrow. I laughed so hard as she is not a morning person and I am not sure how many times I have to wake her each morning for her to get up just before 8. I don't see it happening, and I am certainly not waking her at that time of day. Unless I am jetting off somewhere hot and need to catch a plane, anything before 6.30 - 7.00am does not exist lol.
Sorted quite a bit of paperwork as the bank was not in the carpark this week. I believe it is every other week even though that is not what is on the banks website. At least I got to do some work at home that needed doing and no need to buy a parking ticket, so money saved. Today is normally the day we get takeaway for dinner as it is busy and I'm tired by this point in the week. Happy to announce we had spag bol instead. It didn't take long and was included in the Asda shop from Tues so no extra money spent. Need to start saving the pennies.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Failed last night as ended up with takeaway. We were doing so well. I need some simple easy meals that require not a lot of cooking for the end of the week as this is when I am always too tired and then end up going for something easy. Oh well cant change the past, but need to learn from it and improve.
It is another grey and miserable day outside. Nothing planned other th.,an DD1 going to work. Will be doing the usual weekend washing and clearing up but nothing else planned.
I am in the middle of the Asda food order but no idea what I fancy eating this week that will tie in with what the children will actually eat! I try asking them what they would like to eat. One says chicken (as that is pretty much all they eat) and the others don't mind, but when I suggest things they say no and turn their noses up. Generally if I dish it up they moan but do eat what is in front of them, but it would be nice if they didn't moan first.
I may get the turkey crown from 2021 out of the freezer as I need to start condensing 2 freezers into 1 ready for the building work, as both freezers are under the stairs and I will only really have space for 1 in the kitchen. I think there might even be some pigs in blankets in there too so could have that for dinner tomorrow night if I defrost today. Maybe I will go tile shopping tomorrow when younger 2 are with XH.
OK off to get turkey out and then put a load of washing on, before looking for meal inspiration,Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
