Well the frost has not disappeared at all today.  I have only just managed to get to the sofa as have been wrapping and sorting bits out since this morning.  Washing is under control and homework well underway.  Very productive so far.  It is now dark and almost foggy outside.  No snow but there were whispers from the village next to us that there was snow.

Roast chicken is in the oven and just sorted the veg.  I am really ready for bed tonight as still exhausted - really didn't get my lazy day today.  Oh well only a week to go at work and then not too much going on before we go to my sisters Christmas eve.  Most of the wrapping is now for the children so easier to do when they are not here.  I might try to do a little bit tomorrow after work as there is quite a bit and running out of child free time.

Ok time to sort yorkshire puddings if I can get myself off the sofa

It started snowing last night when I was about to go to bed but when I woke up there was no white at all.  I still had to clear the windscreen but the frosty white from Sunday had all gone.  I thought we might get an extra snow day but nope.  Anyway it was toasty and warm in work.  Cold now I am home again though.  I have put the heating on for a little bit just to take the edge off the cold.  It wasn't on long as I had the school run to do but it was a little warmer to come home to.
Vets shortly as we think he has water infection.  Then off to bowling party.

Hello it has been an eventful few days here.  DS was knocked over and hit the back of his head on the concrete at school.  He was knocked out and had a fit according to his friend (who was so worried for him).  We had a trip to a&e and were seen straight away.  They were fantastic.  He had a CT scan and we were shipped between many different areas of the hospital.  Scan showed everything is ok but was a big knock so it will painful for quite a while.  No school today for either of us so while he was resting I was able to wrap everything that I have for Christmas.  I had been wondering when I would be able to get this done.  So although not quite the way I wanted to find time, it was certainly very helpful.

My only issue is that when trying to pay for parking on the way in to the hospital I was in such a rush to get DS seen that I was unable to pay.  I tried ringing the number to pay as I didn't have the app and I didn't have any cash on me.  It gave us half an hour so I thought if I mention it when in there they may be able to help.  So I did and they said its ok you can pay on the way out.  Well 6 or more hours later I tried phoning again and only being able to get an automated message, I ended up downloading the app in the carpark.  Only problem was that it would only take payment for the future rather than the past.  I paid the number of hours but am kind of expecting a fine.  I have emailed the app people to see if I can explain rather than get a fine but I guess it will be a waiting game.  It is not like I didn't try.

The other horrid bit was that as I share custody of the children I felt I should let XH know as it was looking quite serious as they wheeled him into the resus department.  I haven't text him in over 2 years.  He was polite and grateful for letting me know but I stuck to the facts.  He didn't turn up thankfully as I'm not sure I would have been able to make polite small talk.

I am glad today has been a little less hectic -  I knew things were going too smoothly lol

  • Sorry to hear of the craziness slm, hope DS recovers quickly and glad he is ok. We have a similar style car park near my work and generally speaking if you pay for the time there before you leave, then they don't seem to fine.

@slm6002 sorry to hear about your hospital trip! There is a parking board here full of experts; have a look.  It's also worth contacting PALS (patient liaison) as they normally get any 'fines' aka shocking abuse of people at times of high stress cancelled at record speed.   Take care love Humdinger xx

Thank you to you both, I will certainly keep it in mind should a fine head my way.  It is not like I didn't try to pay so hoping that counts for something.  DS has gone to school today armed with pain killers and knowing that I am only a phone call away if things are too much.  I expect not too much will be going on for these last 2 days of school so it should be fairly easy going I hope.  So far no call to collect him.  I did get a call from the school but from the SEND team saying that he had been re-assessed by the dyslexic outreach team, and they have signed him off as everything is in place and he doesn't need any further help from them as he is work at the correct levels expected and better than some of his class in some cases.

Another present has arrived today so will get the paper out again and wrap that shortly.  DD2 has her Christmas concert later so it will be a quick dinner before heading back out to watch that.  Then it will be home for warming up and bed.

One more day of work and then its the holidays.  DD1 has her driving theory test on the 20th so fingers crossed that will be passed by Christmas.  She only has 2 more lessons and the instructor says that she is ready.  He is already planning to fill her sat morning slot with another learner and then just let her have the odd one here and there until she has passed.

Thank you @I_Love_comps - lots of dribble really, so you have done well.  I am in a much better place most of the time I think since the beginning if this diary and certainly since the start of my MSE journey. But welcome along to my journey.

Today was the last day at school for us all so we can now enjoy a relaxing evening and maybe the odd lie in over the next few weeks.  My lovely ladies in my office gave me some yummy and beautiful gifts, and some great messages in my cards.

I heard back from the people who do the parking at the hospital and I should be ok.  So I can relax a little about that now.  DS is doing better too and not needing too many tablets through the day.  They are becoming spaced out a little more.  School was still a little too noisy for him with all of the festivities so he helped some teachers with some end of term jobs that weren't quite so loud.

Ok I am off to make enchiladas :)

Thank you @LeighofMar.  Dinner is smelling good so hopefully it will taste good too.

I have just had a call from the vet too and the cat needs antibiotics for a water infection.  If this doesn't improve things they will do a bladder scan.  He is fine in himself so hoping they fix him up.  Thankfully I pay for insurance and paid the excess for this treatment last week
