Oh and I meant to mention that I have been and checked my state pension figures and all my working years are complete, and if I carry on the same way will get the full state pension - Yay me. I have 32 years already and 20 more years to go until I am allowed to retire. My work pension is also getting there, but as I only started when I started this job 3 years ago will be ok but not fantastic.
Never felt like I have known enough about pensions to make good choices, so need to look into learning more on this topic before I leave it too late to do anything about it.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Not being mean at all - you are teaching him that he needs to take responsibility if he doesn't do what is expected of him, ie getting up when you call him and getting out on time to catch the bus. As long as he knows the rules then it's his decision!2

Just kind of following what my mum did when we were growing up. At the time many of my friends would say it was mean of her, but I think it taught us what was expected. Some youngsters think it is ok to turn up late for school all of the time, and when you go out to the real world you cant turn up to work late or you will loose your job, and then struggle with bills. I think XH was not taught this theory lolMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Yay it is the weekend. Work done (full day today but got lots ticked off the list) and later I am off out to a quiz with my department. Picking some others up along the way so need to leave mine at 6.15 ish - probably far too early but rather be early than late. Need to give the car a quick clean on the inside too before I go.
Need to see what the children want for dinner. Might be a quick pasta kind of night I think. DD1 is feeling much better so she may be out tonight anyway, which will just leave 2 of them.
Loving this sunshine and hoping to enjoy it over the weekend. Have decided to pop the washing out tomorrow as well if it is like this as the breeze should help. Need to also remember to wipe the line down as its been outside all winter so probably a little grimey.
OK car cleaning time

What a beautiful sunny day it is. The back door has been open all day apart from the time when kitchen designer was here. Didn't need the neighbours listening in to my plans thank you lol. Anyway she came measured, asked if I had any ideas, and went away to do her thing. I was hoping that she may come up with some other ideas but nope. I am due to see what she has planned on Wed evening.
3 loads of washing have been done and are on the line. The solar batteries are topped up ready for tonight. Dinner has been decided on so may cook early to make use of the free energy. Love solar panels in the summer.
Booked a slot at the tip for Monday after work. Will take the box the freezer came in, the plastic drawers that are broken and anything else that will fit in the car. If it is nice again tomorrow I will find the paintbrushes in the garage and finish the door frame that my uncle started, so that it is done before he gets back here in a few weeks time.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Just made a payment to my debt - almost paid off half of it. There may be a small extra payment this month in about a weeks time when I look properly at the figures.

Just had a letter popped through the door saying my water meter has now been upgraded to one that will report every hour so no more needing to send in readings. I went online and had a look at the costs and have upped my DD as it was a little low for the expected yearly bill in June. I think it is down to the fact we have a shower people can actually use, plus DD1's BF also uses the shower when here. Anyway I have upped it by £10 a month for the next few months and when I get the bill I will reduce it by £5 as I wont need to make up the difference.
I am also now officially with octopus for our elect and gas, and I have applied to the higher rate for the energy I export. I was a little nervous to join their flux tariff but will monitor and can always change later on. The new export tariff if I have filled everything in properly, is 3x the amount I am currently getting. And although I never got them and worried about how long it will take to get the money back, it is nice to see the money building hopefully quicker than before. This money is normally used for holiday treats. So far we have nothing planned for this year so will let it build up.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I quite like saving the money for my holiday - sort of free money therefore free holiday lol. Speaking of free money I got an email from building society saying I was going to get a thank you £50 in my bank. So far DD2 has also got the email, and I imagine the other 2 will have too once they check their emails
A couple of long days at work as one of the ladies is off sick so been covering her too as well as the lady on long term sick. Got more done today than yesterday as the corridors were very busy and it wasn't easy to concentrate. Got some important people in tomorrow so hoping the lady is back.
Need to do some admin work for sports club tonight as the deadline is tomorrow. I should have done it a week or so ago but will require some brain power so I had put it off - brain still not running on all cylinders but it will have to do.
Rather than concentrating on the work I actually need to do I have been entering competitions and doing surveys. Need to refocus on the important things that have a deadline.
Defrosted the wrong meal today - was hoping for curry but got the chicken kebab out of the freezer instead. Was really looking forward to the curry as well. Never mind we will switch the meals.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Almost completed the forms I need to fill out - just waiting to hear from a few parents before sending it off. I will be glad once that is done.
Just returned from looking at plans of the kitchen. I was very underwhelmed with what it looked like. No advice on what might work best or what if we do this instead. It was £16k but that also included a discount of £5k from the 50% off cabinets if ordered before the end of the month (it wont be) so realistically they want £21K ish. Oh and that did not include tiles or flooring. I think there is more to look at first and more ideas.
Going to hopefully be any early night as so tired at the moment and the rest of the week is busy.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
