Gratin was yummy and I have another portion in the freezer for later on in the month,
I have caved in and bought a portable oil filled radiator from B&M this evening. We need to heat the air, even though we are under duvets and blankets and multiple jumpers on, it is the air that is so so cold. So far it has been 12 days without heating. Now as it is heating up a little in the one room I wish I'd have done it earlier.
Still waiting for 1 more person to collect, but has made several apologies and asked me to hold onto it for a few more hours. They have now gone quiet. Will readvertise tomorrow if I hear nothingMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Just had the people that were due yesterday collect their bits. Just todays 1 person left to collect the spare tiles from the bathroom makeover now.
Mentioned to Dad who visited yesterday that I had bought an oil radiator - 'oh I have 2 of those in the shed from your grans house'. Why only mention / offer those now having known (and worried about us) from the start that we've had no heating. He could have delivered them yesterday. Anyway he is going to get them out and give them a dust off and I can collect later on. We can then dot them around the house to help. I had lovely rosy cheeks last night even though it was still pretty cold.
Todays jobs:
Washing
Cleaning
Christmas into the loft - its all in boxes so just needs to go up
Get work bag ready
Use pastry in fridge or see if it will fit in the freezer
Get chicken out of the freezer to defrost for tomorrows dinner. Also remember to get roulade out for pudding tomorrow.
Meal plan and online shop for next week
At some point I need to get the garage freezer defrosted. I am on the lookout for a replacement on freecycle really as the seal has completely gone and it is sealed shut with ice. It would be better if I could replace then dispose of the other one, but will depend if I can find one.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

First day back at work for me, was a struggle getting out of bed as I didn't sleep particularly well last night. My eyes are sore and guessing its because I'm tired. But the first day is done and dusted, and caught up quite well which is good.
Heard the part for the boiler should arrive Thursday so boiler man will fit it Friday pm (fingers crossed). Until then we have some heaters in the one main room.
Now about to take DD2 to band and then collect in a few hours, Will be early to bed again tonight and hopefully a full nights sleepMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Slept better last night but still some waking up. I would love to go back to bed but that's not happening.
Need to make my lunch in a minute but am then ready for today. No staff training today, just work although there are no children in so will still be quiet. No clubs tonight so once we are home that is it.
I need to write a thank you letter for sports club as we received a very generous grant for this year coming. Needs sending off asap so might try to put something together today at lunch time so that we can send it off tonight.
Saw the sun holidays were up and running again this week so will find the thread on here and have a look later to see if we can get a cheap holiday for the summer. Not sure if we will all go or just me and the younger 2.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Work is done for the day - I pretended to be 3 different people today as well as myself due to staff illness. All in different roles so was a varied day lol. Now home and wrapped up in warm layers.
A little list for tonight:
Washing x 2
Shower
Thank you letter
Dinner - thinking chicken stew, mash and veg
Holiday browsing - something cheap and cheerful
No money spent today which is good, and as long as I stay off the online shops and depending on if I find a suitable holiday lolMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

I'm feeling exhausted being back in work/ school routine. I could have had a lie in on Mon but I just know I need to get the kids up on their first day as they won't do it voluntarily. My eyes burn from tiredness and I'm not sleeping well either - I'm so tired I thought I'd pass out last night but nope. Hope we both get a good night's sleep tonight 🍀🤞🏻

This evening my electric bill is probably through the roof as the tumble dryer and oven and mini radiators are all on. It is toasty and warm though.
A little list for tonight:
Washing x 2
Shower - next job
Thank you letter
Dinner - thinking chicken stew, mash and veg
Holiday browsing - something cheap and cheerful - had a quick look but need more time to see what is out there as so far no bargains to be found
Glad the thank you letter is out of the way as it has been on my to do list since early Dec.

Forgot to mention I won a £10 voucher at Lidl the other day (Sunday maybe?) and no need to spend big amounts to claim it.
I also decluttered a bag of books to school for the library, and then 2 huge beetroot that came in the outdoor cooking box that we wont eat as we don't like it. It is now with the deputy head as she always seems to have it with her lunch.
Love a little win and declutter to get rid of things and make more space.

Another day done and one of the poorly people I was covering was back today - yay. She did keep coming into my room to chat, and I am thinking please take your germs away. I do not want to get ill please. I was also back in my own room enjoying the lovely heating. Feeling it now as I had got used to it and now waiting for the radiators to heat up. Got home and added some much needed layers to try to acclimatise to home heating. As long as no one comes to the door we will be fine. I have a very mish mash of clothing and colours on lol. Who cares if warmer though!
Just 2 more evenings to get through hopefully.
Did nip to the shops earlier while collecting my prescription and some doughnuts may have been purchased, although they were reduced, but not really money saving. Only 50p spent though so not too bad and they were really quite nice.
DS was back at college today and according to him the college is still waiting for the high school to transfer a form to them so he can be reassessed for his access arrangement for his English exam. This was requested at the end of September at the latest and still hasn't been done. So tomorrow I will call them again. I asked for them to send it to me but they wouldn't do that and insisted they would send it in bulk to the college.
Been looking at a local job which is working from home mainly and around the times of my other job. Because I'd love to be off benefits I am very tempted. I need to check if there are any clauses in my current work contract that say I cant have a second job, and then see if it is worth the extra hours each week. No point working more if it doesn't work money wise. I don't think it would allow me to come off them completely, but if work could up my hours officially by a few that might close the gap. I also don't have all of the qualifications but do have the experience in the area of the job that they need, and mentoring will be provided. Worth a shot I think.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
