Thank you everyone.Β The boiler man came out and was only here for a short while while he confirmed the bit that he looked at last time was now broken.Β He has gone home to research finding a new bit as ours is very old so is unlikely to find one the same.Β He will let me know in the next day or so, but as tomorrow is new years day I am guessing we are at least another day away from it working.Β On a plus side at least the boiler hasn't been condemned and we still have hot water, and hopefully it wont cost huge amounts.
Payday today so will do some money shifting tomorrow with it being the first of the month.Β DD1 was also paid and feels very rich right now.Β Told her to keep thinking she was poor.Β That was she wont waste it.Β No rent from her as yet, but will remind her when she gets home tomorrow (she has gone to a party but would much rather stay home and sleep).Β The rest of us are watching tv, playing computer games or sleeping.Β I doubt I will make it until midnight.
In 2025 I plan on decluttering (a lot) and paying off my debt.Β It would be great if I could move up in my job and come off benefits, but things are very unclear what could happen there.Β Would be good though to have the financial freedom to be allowed to save and spend as I wish without having to answer to anyone.
Happy New Year to you all and lets see where the next 12 months takes us xMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Thank you @24ta.Β Happy 2025 everyone.Β I have had a great nights sleep (didn't see midnight as predicted) and could not tell you if fireworks went off or not as once the hearing aids are out and I'm asleep anything could happen and I wouldn't know lol.
Just waiting for the water to heat up before I get in the shower, then will get going with my day.Β It is really windy here today,Β Every time it is like this I always wish I had some rope or bungee cords to secure the bin lids with.Β That way if they are blown over the contents wont be all over the neighbourhoodΒ Might have a look and see what I can find, or see if the local DIY store is open today.
Nothing really planned for today and DD1 has a few days off in a row which will be good for her.Β I will be looking at my spreadsheet for this year and I will get my money moved to the right pots.Β I can then plot and plan and read everyones great ideas for the year.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Just looked up and rain was just falling in sheets from the sky.Β It came out of nowhere and noticed as the room was dark.Β Also just received a snow alert for the weekend.Β Glad we are indoors and DD1 is not out driving today.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

**Just read this post back to myself and it is very negative for only the 2nd day of the new year.Β Feel free to skip over this**
Well it looks brighter outside today and is dry even though very cold.Β I didn't sleep very well last night and had some very real dreams / nightmares.Β Builders, XH, Money all featured.Β I lay awake for about an hour and a half at one point which is very unlike me.Β Must have drifted off eventually.Β I am going to struggle getting up next week for work that is for sure.
I have dropped DD2 off at the library for journal making which is right up her street.Β While in town I picked up some chicken for tonight dinner plus cat food and took back a parcel.Β The entire driveway is filled with builders making it difficult to get in and out of our drive.Β They don't care and find it amusing.Β It is a coincident I dreamt of a similar situation last night?Β Reminded them there is parking over the road for builders so that residents are not blocked from reaching their own houses.Β I was met with a blank look as if I was talking a foreign language.Β Makes me angry. The builder owns the road so thinks he has the rights to do as he wishes even if it breaks rules from the planning permission and just general curtesy.
While in town I went to take the salt dough decorations down at the museum.Β Because the barn is so so damp it all had to be thrown away as was like slop.Β I have told them that if they keep the trees in the barn next year, I will not be doing it.Β Even material decorations were destroyed.Β The light box that house the batteries had a puddle of water on it.Β Some of these salt dough decorations had lasted years in the loft and never had this problem.Β Normally they put the trees in the nice warm dry house and it looks lovely but they changed things this year.Β I am hoping they realised what a bad idea it was.Me, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19
