Have you searched on auto trader by distance ? You might find a garage selling one reasonably local ?

Thank you @dawnybabes I ended up doing this but it would appear DS has chosen a very expensive and also one that is more likely to be found in USA.  There was a similar type of car on there though so have said that he may need to change the look slightly.  He seemed ok with that.

Just applied for the bursary for DS to go to college.  It would cover the bus journeys and meals while there.  Although I am not currently under the threshold (by a small amount only), by the time he goes to college I will not be receiving anything from UC, CB or money from XH for DD1.  This would then put me under the threshold.  I have mentioned this in the application, so will keep my fingers crossed until I hear.  As yet DD1 doesn't really have much idea as to what she plans on doing. It said about 2-3 days but they have only just opened so it might be busy.

I really need to do a proper food shop as the past few days we have been living off freezer beige food.  I have been tired from the first week back at work, and then needing to revise with DS so cooking has been to grab something quick and easy.  Time to get back into being a little more organised.

Made it to the weekend - Yay.  I need to pop up into the loft tonight to bring down some instruments.  Tomorrow we are all meeting up from band to sort them up and work out what we have, and what we are going to do with them all.  We could really use some nice weather so we can use the garden.  When DS gets home from school today I will get him to help.  I also need to get his revision ready for tomorrow, or he wont do anything.  I am hoping that I can be home by 3 at the latest.

The lady from the college is asking lots of questions re the bus and which stop DS would like to get on at, so I am secretly hoping it means we have free travel.  It would help so much.

The bank balance is looking a little on the low side, but it is getting close to the end of the month for me, so completely normal.  I topped up with petrol today, but had budgeted for that.  I also did a small shop for some actual ingredients.  I have got a chicken out of the freezer for either tomorrow (if defrosted) or Sunday. It cleared one of the freezer drawers allowing me to fit some other bits in there.

I cant remember if I said, but my garden waste bin arrived the other day - now need to start filling it.  The grass could probably do with another cut soon and the rest of the pots cleared ready for this years things.

Up early as still in work mode and know I have quite a bit to do today.  I have already collected some nice bits from olio - big box of shreddies (with something sticky on the box so guess that's the reason it wont sell), 4 pack of branded baked beans (bean juice on the cardboard packaging, so again the only reason not to be able to sell), a box of posh spaghetti (no idea why this was in the pile as no obvious reason) and some clear honey (again no obvious reason).  I don't buy branded items very much at all so kids will no doubt realise where these items are from lol.  I also went to aldi this morning on the way back as DS is out of ketchup!  As DS and DD2 are out for dinner tonight DD1 (if home) and I are having a curry, so I treated myself to a naan and some onion bhajis to go with it.  Still using food vouchers - think there is about £3 left on the last one.

It is looking very much like rain, which is not good for our instrument sort out today.  Need to leave in 20 min or so, but the ones we had in our loft have been popped in the car ready.

Right time to wake the children and get them going too

Curry is in the oven and smelling good already.  I have been looking forward to dinner all day.  DD1 is currently staying home as she needs to finish an assignment, but who knows for later.

DS has just left after he called XH to see where he was (as said he would pick him up an hour ago).  Turns out he was behind our garage so DS could not see him, and had been there for the whole hour.  Why on earth would he not text or call after the first 15 min maybe of waiting to say he is outside.  Anyway DS has gone, and I expect he will return within the hour having had his McDonalds.

The task of sorting the instruments was complete and we just need to either sell or repair and sell.  Hopefully that will happen shortly so we can finish everything up and forget about it.

Tomorrow we are off to a clothes swap.  We take a bag of clothes that no longer fit and we get to choose some new to us clothes.  I am after a denim jacket for DD2 and maybe some dresses and school trousers.  Over Easter her trousers have all become very tight.  So much so that I wondered if she had mixed them up with a pair from last year somehow.  We will hopefully have some luck tomorrow.

Right off to find a nice film to watch

A small list for today I think is needed:
    Collect DD2
Clean bathrooms - upstairs is looking disgusting and even though it is being replaced soon, still needs a bit of a deep clean
    Clothes swap at 2
    Cook the roast
    Washing
Start filling the brown bin with old plants
Buy new charger for DD2's phone
If time - start decluttering the airing cupboard as the builders will need access to this for the shower, and I am sure we no longer need peppa pig type duvet covers
Meal plan for this week & shopping list / online shop

Must be an airing cupboard sort of day !

We have lots of ‘dead’ teddy bear sheets that aren’t fluffy anymore that I’m saving for some bizarre reason ……

And how many towels does a family of 4 really need lol.  Not sure I will make it today as I know it will be a big task, but then it will be a nice feeling getting it ticked off the list.  I also need to sort the loft - really would like it boarded properly and then some shelves put in.  We will see

Well I didn't get round to doing the airing cupboard, but as soon as I put the dinner in the oven this evening I went upstairs and had a quick go at it.  I have taken out all of the items that we definitely wont be keeping.  To be honest I only found 2 towels which makes me wonder where the rest are.  We tend to wash our favourites and then reuse.  When DD1 is home I will go through the bedding a bit more.  I have managed to remove 3 bin bags full already which was quite easy.

Just completed the meal plan and online shop, which will arrive tomorrow afternoon.  Feel like we are getting there slowly :)

  • I did my airing cupboard a few weeks back and found about 15 towels 🙈😂 oops. So I delegated some huge ones that were all bleach stained to the DIY box, to be used as protective towels for painting etc. Then we kept probably more than we should have ...I think about 7 made it to the good enough pile and then 6 smaller ones for hair and far too many hand towels 😂 where do they all come from eh! Is this where all my money has been going on towel bales....
Got my food shop coming tomorrow can't wait as we haven't much in and both freezers are looking pretty bare now.
