I've got a pair of PJs like that @slm6002! I couldn't get anything through the waistband so just machined a piece of 1/2" wide elastic across the back. It's done the job for a while but think I may need to add a bit more to each side to make them last a bit longer. I'm sure that eventually I'll have elastic all the way round so I can carry on wearing them!

@joedenise I'm wondering if I sew on the outside a strip of ribbon and leave a gap to pull together and tie. Which ever way I do it, is not going to matter as they cant really get any worse.
Just home from the school Halloween quiz. Fun was had by all I think and this time we even managed a few raffle prizes to bring home. We didn't win the quiz but its ok.
Still not completed the job I've been putting off but tomorrow is another day. Going to enjoy a quiet evening after I load the dishwasher and get into bed a listen to audio bookMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Only 1 more day until the half term. Will still have a busy week ahead but a little more relaxed and not too many early starts.
The rest of niece's birthday bits turned up in the post today. Still waiting for DS's but have a few more days for his. Will wrap them tomorrow so they are ready. Once they are both sorted I just have DD2 before the end of the year and then onto Christmas bits.
DS's new bed arrived this morning and my brother was able to be here. We've taken down the old one which has actually broken in 2 places not 1, and then sorted the new one out. Really hoping this one lasts a little longer.
Right time for a shower and then bedMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Ooh forgot to say I had a small cost of living pay increase today. They decided that even though nothing had been officially decided, rather than wait for the unions, to pay us extra now as we need it now. So we will have an extra payment in Nov. Unfortunately for me what I receive in wages will be deducted in benefits but that cant be helped at the moment. One day I might be able to spend a lump sumMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Very soggy and wet today. Drains at work filling up. We have a small court yard in the centre and I each time I walked by the water level was getting higher and higher. If it continues I reckon we will need sand bags at the door. It was at least 10cm + or more. Anyway as our children come quite a distance they got to go home after lunch. I have also just picked up DD2 as they have shut. Now waiting for DS and DD1 to get home and then we are shutting the doors and putting pj's and maybe even the heating on (DD1 told her class in excitement about this apparently lol).
We are supposed to be going to the pumpkin patch tomorrow but wondering how wet it will be. We have wellies but not sure yet.
Anyway it is half term. Time to relax a little and to work through the long list of jobs to doMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Well after a nice lie in this morning I ventured out and was happy to see the large puddle / river blocking us in had disappeared. I headed to Aldi along with most of the town and did my weekly shop. We had run out of so many things and since getting back DS has announced the cereal is almost empty. I had my holiday vouchers to put towards it but still spent some actual money. Hopefully it will last the week.
I scanned the shop once home and have just spent the points that I had saved up. It has been turned into a £40 pizza hut voucher for DS's bday treat. We will go for the buffet and fill up. Any extra that I will need can be bought using my perks site through work so can get a few more £'s off. 2 of his presents haven't turned up as yet and 1 was cancelled as the shop realised that they were out of stock! Not helpful. I will look elsewhere and have to nip to town before Wed. We also need more wrapping paper. That will be a job for tomorrow as I have an Olio slot on Sundays for H&B so will be in town anyway.
The sun is trying to come through the grey clouds at the moment. Hopefully no more rain here but ready if there is. Think another to do list is needed as I have been on sofa since sorting lunch and not achieved an awful lot.

Good morning. It is all quiet here at the moment so I'm taking the opportunity to have a browse on here.
The sun looks like it is on its way so maybe I can get some washing dry? Tonight we have a meeting at our house for our club and yesterday I finished the accounts (big thing off my list) which will need dropping off to the auditors. We need to have a good clean of downstairs and the box for the charity shop needs to go.
DD2 was having a bit of a mental crisis last night and feeling like everything was just too much so will need to put some time aside for us to talk and do something together.
If we have the time we might venture to the pumpkin patch today. Not sure yet but will hopefully get there at some point this week.
In money news I had my new council tax bill through. When DD1 turned 18 I informed them that I was no longer the only adult, but because she is still in education she could be classed as a student so in theory I still get the extra 25% reduction for single adult occupancy. That was all that has changed. Somehow I am now paying £60 a month rather than £70. Not complaining but not understanding how it has gone down rather than up. Either way it is another £10 to add to the savings pot.
On the savings, money is going well for the bathroom. I need to start purchasing things for it rather than leaving things until too late and them being out of stock, or gone up in price. I need to get in the garage and have another cleaning session and get rid of things we don't need (most of it was done in the summer). That way there will be space to store the bits of bathroom until March when the builders arrive.
Time to go and wake the children

Just home from the pumpkin patch. We will be going again next year hopefully as it was plenty big enough, but off the beaten tracks so not busy at all. We came home with 1 big, 2 medium, 3 small and 2 tiny pumpkins, all for £11. I was shocked at the price and had expected to pay much more than we did. On the way home we also stopped for a maccy d's but were using the monopoly wins from their fortnightly lunches with XH. Therefore there were minimal costs there too and as they needed using up by the end of the week, they havent been wasted like other years.
OK now to clean and hopefully encourage the children to helpMe, DD1 19, DS 17, DD2 14, Debt Free 04/18, Single Mum since 11/19

Any news on the broken bed ? I always tweet companies when I am unhappy - if you put a . before their name so .@nameofbedcompany it means everyone who follows them can see it so they tend to answer quicker. Guess you are relying on the bank though now but honestly a twitter acct is useful if only to complain as they do have customer services watching comments
The pumpkin patch sounds cool!DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.
