The question to ask yourself is would you use the lime instead of going out to buy a lemon if you were making it at home?  I assume the answer would be to use what you have.  I'd send her in with the lime.

Very true.  I am not sending in a chilli as there is not a chance she will eat it then.  I think I may have a bottle of lime juice somewhere, so she can have the choice.  I will however keep an eye on olio just in case 1 turns up on there.

DD1 knows I'm not happy and is unloading the dishwasher without me having to wait 3 days and nag her.  Cat fed and no more cat duty for a while.  They seem to be going away a lot at the moment.

Few minutes to myself left before I start the school run.  First day back and was in the office alone as colleague is off sick and probably will be for a few days - she has covid quite badly apparently.  On the way home I have done a supermarket shop.  When I got home I expected all of the builders vans to be in the way as they had already arrived this morning.  Instead I was met with an empty road although the site was open and there was a first aid kit and a fuel container on the road.  Not sure if something happened - would be surprised as not seen any form of health and safety since they started.  It was very strange.

Jacket potatoes tonight - hopefully before DD2's club.  Think I need to get the duvet down for the sofa soon as just a blanket is still a bit cold.  Last year this worked really well.

Following on from my last post yesterday a health and safety poster had suddenly been stuck on the fence.  Who knows if they were inspected or if something did happen.  About time,  although still no hard hats in site.   Today I returned home to them parked on my driveway - and they still are - as they had a delivery of concrete from the looks of it.  Not sure it will dry in the pouring rain but I'm not a builder.  Anyway they were completely blocking the gate to get into my house.  They just sat there looking smug until I shut one of the van doors myself and squeezed through.  It was only at that point that they looked as if I had done something wrong.

This morning I moved all my monthly regular savings to the relevant accounts, so that is all done until December.  I now have enough to cover the bathroom invoice, but need to buy the bits for the builders to actually install.  Need another trip to the showroom I think, with a list and my budget in hand.

Looks like the storm tonight could hit us quite badly.  About to go and pop the bins in the garage for safe keepings - don't fancy chasing my rubbish and recycling down the road.  I think everything else is sorted.  DD2's school have already sent letter home saying that if it is as bad as predicted then stay home and homework will be uploaded to school system for them to complete.  Not sure if it will be bad as they are making out, or just because the other week caused lots of flooding and no one was prepared, they are being extra cautious as the fields are already soaked so flooding is likely.

I guess we will see.  We are all sorted for food and even have a gas stove just in case the power goes out.

Well both high schools were shut at around 7.30am but my school was open until I got there and we were turning children round and sending them home.  I got home just before half 9 and had also nipped into lidl to get more ketchup - cant be shut off from the world with no ketchup for DS!

I am not seeing the bad weather yet, although the end of the road is flooded again, but that was all I saw today,  Its barely windy at all and only drizzling.  Not sure if it is all about to hit us or if we have just been lucky, but if I were just to look out of the window, I'd just say it was an autumn day.

So today has been home schooling.  Explained several things to each of the children and the lightbulb moments that came on as they obviously understood my way of explaining over the teachers way.  Today I have taught business studies, maths, philosophy, English, history, German and possibly a few more subjects in various degrees.

I also looked at the bank and my £300 cost of living payment had arrived.  That has been put away for emergencies.

Yay my working week is done.  Much happier with the new hours I do now they have been tweaked.  It gives me 3 afternoons to get things sorted.  On the way home today I delivered a box of donations to the charity shop as they have been in the boot of my car for some time now.  The next job on the list will be the dishwasher and to clean the kitchen.  Hoping to be able to sit down later and look at bathrooms suites and Christmas lists.

It is looking wet for the fireworks tonight.  The children decided that they didn't want to go tonight when asked a while back.  Last night DD1 announced she is going with her friends.  It is her that feels pain in heart every time the bangs go off.  We are shortly off to get her an ECG as she has been having palpitations recently.

DS has a trial shift at a local traditional Italian pizza place later today.  He knows nothing about cooking or vegetables (not through lack of trying on my part) so people may get some strange toppings.  They know he is very much a novice, and in previous jobs they have been youth workers so will hopefully be good with him, but it is a busy night of the week to have a trial in a kitchen.  So fingers crossed everyone that he will communicate with them and show promise if nothing else.

So once we've been to the Dr's it is then on to hairdressers with DS and shops to get him a plain t-shirt for tonight.

As the timings of his work cross over the firework display, we may sit in the carpark and watch.  I told DD2 that we can still take our hot chocolate like we do, with us, and I bought a sparkler each.

I think today is going to be a long day and I will be ready for my bed.

It has been a better day than expected.  Not too full on at all.

While at the doctors I sorted a few other bits out.  I dropped some bits off at my brothers that had been around the house a little longer than planned.  Got DS his haircut (one of his least favourite activities) and his uniform for his job trial.  Job trial went well and it looks like he is now employed.  Very happy for him.  He came home full of achievement and so much to tell us (not like him at all).

Saw the fireworks going off as we went to collect him.  Had our hot chocolates and our 1 sparkler each once DD1 was home.  Firework night completed :)

Thank you @dawnybabes, he is very happy about it.  Sorry to hear your dog was not so happy about the fireworks.  I am grateful our cats came in when asked and they don't seem to be too bothered by them.  Next event is DD2's bday on Thursday.  She is off with XH today so will make sure we have everything ready.

Lots of washing needing to be done today ready for the week ahead.  Few people to arrange to meet and we need a few bits for lunches next week, so meal plans and then a shop needed.  I would like to be able to visit the local bathroom showroom too, but we will see how I get on with the housework first.

    Best get going :)
