The alarm on my old fridge freezer (known as the beer fridge
) has beeped on two occasions over the weekend (I blame @Mrs_Cheshire - I had not spoken of possible breakdowns until she asked...) - apparently. DH just powered it off and on again to make it stop. He did not bother telling me
- so this morning I have been shuffling food from there out to the catering freezer (upright) having liberated a shelf and a half. For the first time I have crumpets, garlic-bread, ice cream and the emergency pizza out in that "garden produce" one. I've now ordered some plastic baskets to organise the garage chest freezer which was originally quite organised but DH recently described as "chaos" - he has been putting stuff in it and I have not been out there for 2 months to check. No doubt any systems I had are long departed and he will have adopted the "aimless rummaging" approach to food retrieval alongside the "chuck it anywhere" storage system

That looks great. I might do a similar for our market trip on Friday, although we only want two or three bits with my freezer dodginess to take into considerationSave £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)

Extra spend at the milkman on nice eggs £1.89, plus £14.68 Aldi.
I was beginning to worry I might not hit budget, but I have realised plus list, minus husband is the ideal way to shop.Keep reading books!

Been shopping again this morning as needed to top up some store cupboard items so now have £66.11 left for the rest of the month so think it's going to be tight as have also used most of my bulk fund this month as well.

Afternoon everyone, somewhere along the line I have missed a small top up shop of £3.82. Aldi click and collect today of £92.06 brings my January spending so far to £166.20/£375.00
I am hoping not to spend any more this month as in my click and collect today I have tried to shop for the next two weeks, I still have to pay my Mum for the small add ons I have had on her Tesco order which should come in around £15 but I haven't had the bill for that yet. I've tried to stick to less than £75 a week even though I set a monthly target of £375 which I think has helped me track my spending weekly. I am really hoping to come in the end of the month under budget and if I do I wont reduce the budget next month, I will wait and see how that month unfolds. Good luck with your budgeting everyone and stay safe x

Another top up shop on way home from work 19.48
now at 137.31 / 160 for January
I have to be realistic will not be within the budget this month, however, it should still be less than our usual spend so will see what happens and amend for next month.6 -
No shopping here today but got £3.10 refund paid so adding it back on. £77.50/£200 spent so far.I keep trying to use things from the freezer but it never seems to look and emptier! I suppose that taking out a couple of chicken breasts only then to replace with 2 meal sized bags of chicken and veg curry is helping in the short term! 🤔 I seem to be getting through the tins though so I suppose that’s a bonus!

Went food shopping yesterday and ended up spending roughly £110.00. I do now have enough food to feed a small army though! I'm way over budget, signature updated, it at least it gives me a starting point. I know where I need to move things around.
