Hi all, Could you put me down for £350 for January. Going to try reducing the budget this coming year as our circumstances changed last May with hubby being made redundant. Still no sign of a job so got to keep everything low for now. This is to feed 5 (2 adults, 3 kids - 11,9 & 5), all household & toiletries and any meals out/takeaways.
Freezer is pretty full as are stores, so shouldn't be too difficultGrocery Challenge 2024

Thanks for the new thread, @elsiepac. Please put me down for £140, for two adults. Our month normally runs from 1st to 31st but I might have to break into January's money early. (We've nearly spent all of December's.)
Hope you have a lovely Christmas and New Year.

Thank you elsiepac for doing this thread. As I've said before it really does help keep us accountable, even if we blow the budget.January, and so 2021, is almost upon us! Hoping for everyone it is a better year all around. Our January budget is going to be £150. The month goes 1st to the 31st.This is for two adults, my OH and I, and a chinchilla. Includes all food and drink (except alcohol), cleaning products, toiletries etc and all chinchilla items (food, hay, sand, treats etc.). This is lower than before, hoping we can do this as with no job we have to keep our spends down. Really hoping to come in budget or even better lower.
£0/£150.
£150 left.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy5 -
Hi @elsiepac can you amend my annual budget to £4000 please, this has proved a very expensive year financially for me, need to claw some back, think a new/different car going to be needed next year too.
Amending my total, this will include all my spends except car and dog,Do I need it or just want it.5 -
Hi Elsiepac. I’ve decided that we should be able to do on £200 per month. There is only 1 adult and 1 child, although the child eats more than the adult! It will include pet food for a dog and 2 cats plus household cleaning/toiletries. I’m thinking in my head £2,500 for the year which would allow a small contingency. So budget for January is £200, the challenge is set, thank you.SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)6

Thank you for the new thread, elsiepac, and wishing all particpants and lurkers as happy, frugal & prosperous New Year as we can all manage! Please can you put me down for £400 for January? That's for 4/5 adults, 2/3 of them omni, 2 pescatarian - numbers unclear as DS3 is with us in Tier 2 over the festivities, but would be in Tier 4 on return to uni; as he's in the last few weeks of his PhD he probably will go back, but the exact when is a mystery just now. If he's staying put here, I may ask to put it up by £50.Angie - GC Aug25: £292.26/£550 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)10
