    Morning folks

Thank you for all your well wishes and big (extremely distanced virtual covid-free hugs) to you all.

We are both still tired and coughing and I've lost my sense of taste and smell but I'm going to tentatively say we are both a bit brighter this morning. I felt up to putting away my Christmas presents and OH came down and washed up before making his brekkie. He hasn't gone near the sink in about 4 days so I'm taking this as a positive sign. Both of us are looking out of the window at the sunshine longingly. I miss the allotment! Not that I'd have the energy to go but still!

Had a knock at the door at 20 past 8 this morning. It was DPD - a couple of weeks ago I'd ordered a case of alcohol-free beer from BrewDog and a third of the order was missing. They sent me a full new case! I have more beer now than I could ever drink. I was hiding behind the door because I didn't want to covid the delivery guy. I think he thought it was because I was in my pjs because he apologised that it was early and asked if I wanted him to lift the case into the house. Had to tell him through the door not to come near dt covid situation and wait for him to back far away.

So, what can we do today? We thought we might work on some playlists and possibly get the map out and plan a road trip that we were going to take for our 10th wedding anniversary this year. I think we're both sick of watching telly!
I also took down the Christmas cards and cut the backs off to save them for next year's gift tags. I'm kinda fed up of the Christmas decs now as I'm not feeling particularly festive but I haven't really got the energy to start taking them all down. I'll probably do it bit by bit over the next few days.

I hope you all have a good day

Hi everybody just having a quick scan of the last week, I hope everybody has made it through the holidays and had some rest and some love :-). I kind of broke the bank, and didn't even buy any presents to boys ein the end, I gave them cash as all shops were closed. They're happy though. Spent the afternoon washing cars, mine haven't been cleaned since before lockdown 1! First I didn't use it and then the car wash was closed.
Apart from that all is good, there's still a heap of food to get through, Christmas tree will stay up till after new years and there's still more gin and port! In T4 everything is so quiet it's all a bit odd, also our river flooded lots of people out of their homes so a difficult time for many. That said I'm grateful were cosy and dry, in good health and the decorating of the hall way will/might actually start tomorrow! Happy days and a big hug to those who needs it.

Glad you are feeling a bit more perky CLF.
Made a pannettone (sp?) in my breadmaker, and it is lovely! I didn't buy one as I normally do. I can see this becoming something that we don't limit to just Christmas. Much cheaper than the bought kind - it doesn't cost much to make as it uses only baking ingredients, and no packaging. Not especially slimming I am afraid, but bound to be less calorific than cake, as it contains less fat and sugar. Must make an ordinary loaf as well though, as it won't work with soup or baked beans!

A quick trip to Asda this morning has meant that i have filled the freezer with plenty of yellow stickered dinners:  2 packs of chicken kiev's reduced from £1.37 to 34p, 4 burgers reduced from £2.28 to 57p, 2 cod fillets reduced from £1.85 to 46p, 4 packs of 2 salmon fillets reduced from £2.69 to 67p, an Indian takeaway meal box for tonight (chicken jalfrezi, chicken korma, pilau rice, naan bread and onion bhaji) reduced from £7.00 to £1.75 and 4 limes reduced from 79p to 20p (will slice and freeze), so in total it came to £6.34. Very happy with that and the freezer is full again ready for the new month ahead :)
