Thank you @D123456789 and @balabooberlies I hope you are well.
Sorry hear about the car @GrannyKate.
I have been in bed all day not so well so not decluttered anything yet. I really need to get better at selfcare. Paperwork for doctors yesterday and ID selfie 😭 taken this morning for new job. Dentist I shall tackle next week.
I don't know why I'm such a wuss with all that sort of thing. I'm pretty sure my other back tooth I've been hanging on to for an age shall have to go, not the sort of decluttering I like 😂
Going to try to shake it off and get up soon see what needs to be done and where to start as I have been in bed I can see glimpses of the bombsite from here.
No rest for the wicked but starting to wonder who I was and what I did in my past life lol 😂😅
Back later when I have (hopefully) been more productive.

How exciting for Mr V @vulpix
I might watch a YouTube video for cleaning motivation. Funny how I will watch someone else clean their house quite happily when I should be doing my own.Grocery challenge Feb £107/£100-epic fail due to cake and biscuits

So the pile by the front door is growing again, picture frames, wood and so on.
Swished round the house with a flash wipe thing or two then gave up.
Cooked the ham (gammon) which actually tastes more like a hotdog but will do for toasties for tea.
I have the task of eating up the pudding type stuff before I shop tomorrow, so bananna, custard and milky bar pot but shall do a pud in a mug in the microwave shove it all together and hope for the best.
Threw away a box and took a few bits off eboy. Only 3 things listed now so not expecting any quick sales from that. Ended up at 500 so bit shy of my months target but still a good outcome.
Really must start to look at a proper spring clean routine.
Seen some very cheap desk legs for sale and may get those.

Gosh I desperately need to join in on this. I moved into my house in November, and aside from kitchen items and some of my clothes, honestly most of my stuff is shoved in our double garage or in our two spare rooms. Given I've not needed or wanted to use any of that stuff in all of this time, I know it's time to get rid.
Hoping car boots will start to open up again soon so I can maybe make some money back too. If not, then I have a lot which can go to the charity shop. I HATE waste, and am trying to live more sustainably, so if I can avoid landfill then I absolutely will do so. To make any money back will just be a bonus.
I've haven't read the entire thread as it's just too long but does anyone have any tips or hints on how best to approach a whole house sort out?! I've seen a few daily/weekly/monthly chore/task charts flying around - any in particular which anyone would recommend?12 -
No decluttering but I have today started to tackle the health hazard that is my kitchen. If I were a restaurant I’d probably be closed down.
So I’ve cleaned the really minging bits where food had dropped down gaps and was festering and am currently working my way round degreasing the cupboards.I want a new kitchen this year but I’d be too ashamed to let workmen in at the moment.Hoping to finish tomorrow, when I can then sort out and clean the inside cupboards. Wish me luck.Hob_Nob_Nob, systems don’t really work for me although there’s a fly lady thread around here somewhere. I just get cross with myself when I don’t stick to them.
I do mine in fits and starts (more fits at the moment). I started with clearing surfaces because that makes me feel better. Sold some stuff on FB marketplace which was an incentive. Or see how much you can do an hour at a time, or one bag at a time, or whatever. What’s annoying you the most about it at the moment? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.11 -
I have also planted a load of seeds which isn’t decluttering but makes me happy. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

hob_nob_bob One of the things I have found works best is to try and group 'like with like' - it is hard to get rid of things if you don't know what you've actually got. As you have spare rooms perhaps you could clear part of one and start collecting things together with their friends. You will spot a few things to go out along the way and other things you can use. I have left papers and photos until last but I do at least have a good idea what is in the different boxes. I did a grid for April with a room to clean each day (some rooms had more than one day) and I now have 2 three month grid - one for cleaning and another for random diy jobs. Count anything which declutters either your physical home and life or your brain - there are no rules.
Thanks to everyone for sympathies re DS2's car. DIL is ok although she has neck strain and concussion. The car is a write off so helping them sort replacement and acting as chauffeur in the meantime. It is so frustrating as they are both key workers and need a car and the insurance payout won't replace what they had.
No more decluttering today as brain is dead after walking round looking at cars.

@hob_nob_bob I recommend the secret slob on you tube - I completely relate to her. If I only could spend more time doing what she says rather than just watching what she does 😂
it was washing day today 3 loads done. It usually happens on Friday as it’s change the beds day. I have not done a lot else 😕 as am exhausted but will tackle some projects next 2 weeks as I’m on annual leave 🤗
