2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

TV cabinet was picked up this afternoon. Cleared a cupboard ready for the new kitchen which meant three jars went into the recycling.
That's another 4 items to add to my 20 already. Clearing the kitchen is really helping start my motivation. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.

Welcome back daisy_1571 👋 Your 2021 sounds like it might be rather exciting daisy 😉
I do so like the quote “mess is just a decision postponed” 😉
Re completing craft projects, perhaps you could use these as rewards for successful decluttering sessions 🙂 Now, as to the garden - remember it is an extra room 🙂 & now that it’s all sorted it can be your haven when the indoor decluttering gets too much - weather dependent of cothe garden - remember it is an extra room 🙂 & now that it’s all sorted it can be your haven when the indoor decluttering gets too much - weather dependent of course 😉
By the way, I don’t agree that not decluttering/tidying is a terrible attitude ☹️ I believe it is called ‘Clutter Blindness’ 😉
Champing at the bit vulpix - I like that 🙂 Perhaps a ‘To Do List’ pinned up in a prominent position. You already have the title “£s Gained, lbs Lost” 😉 I am keeping everything firmly crossed that your son can have a ‘proper’ wedding in April 🤞
leelad, a quite successful growing year. My radishes were large 🙂 but only 5 of them ☹️I do envy you your carrots but as you say 2020 has been the ‘trial & error’ year. So pleased that you & your daughter have managed to find something to do together in lieu of the boot sales 👏
Great start Nicnak 👏 your kitchen will be a haven of tidiness 😉
Welcome aboard lifeatthekings 👋 2021 sounds exciting - a move in the offing 🙂 I am looking forward to seeing your list - it may give me a few ideas 😉
Another new face - welcome aboard Black_Saturn 👋 An excellent plan & I promise that I will try to remind you & keep your enthusiasm going 😉 I believe I am a fairly good cheerleader 😉😉
Great start tryingtoavoiddebt 👏 How about each week, on completion of a specific decluttering task, you treat yourself to a couple of gins - that’s glasses not bottles 😂😂😉😉 - hope that isn’t offensive - I am joking 🙃Be Kind. Hi Can I join too please? I read through the thread yesterday evening and was feeling slightly overwhelmed but wanted to get started I just wasn't sure where to start, I'm not sure who sorry but I went with the great suggestion of sorting out the bathroom. I used the Marie Kondo thinking of if it doesn't spark joy...out it goes. I tried around 18 months ago but struggled to follow the categories she suggested and my resolve petered out. Clothes were a difficult one for me, I felt that by getting rid of clothes that didn't fit me (in my case too small) then it was accepting that I would never lose the weight that I need to. I see it differently now, you have to let things go (thoughts and possessions) in order to let go of the burden and move forward. So new start for me and I really think taking part in this will really help me. Everyone has really spurred me on with their achievements.19

Just starting with a receipt pile or something like that is progress. One cupboard, or drawer. If I'm not motivated, that's what I do to help get me started. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Great idea Niknack, I have plenty of small things I could work on to help me along and build up to the harder to sort through things x13

Good evening Mrs SD, I would like to join again for 2021. I find that reading other peoples' posts helps to keep me motivated and gives me ideas. As this will be my fifth year of joining the challenge and lots of clutter has already gone, I would like to go for the 52 in 52 weeks. (With my husbands recent medical emergencies and taking on more work I haven't posted as regularly during the second half of the year. So my aim is to post once a week updating everyone with all the decluttering that I have completed throughout the week).
I also hope to do a couple of boot fairs come the summer. I have a big birthday coming up and it would be good to use the money to go towards funding a nice treat around that time.Target:
Garden (get out when weather is suitable)
a) turn one raised bed into a soft fruit bed - raspberries, blackberry and strawberry bed.get rid of little pots - declutter garden
c) build little green house ready for spring
d) clear border
e) weed round blackcurrant bushes
f) dig up three spare thornless blackberry bushes and gooseberry bush and give to family
House:
a) go through every cupboard in the house (again!) declutter, clean and reorganise. Start in the bedroom. (Kitchen was only done recently).go through clothes - make a list of new items needed; bin old clothes that are marked and cannot be repaired or sold; get spring Mac dry cleaned.
c) go through shoes/boots - clean them all, see if any need rehealing / repairing.
d) airing cupboard - reorganise/ check fitted sheets.(Loft is still clean and tidy from this years efforts).
That's enough to focus the mind and get started with.Gem-gem2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Hello Mrs SD, I'm in again for 2021 !
Thank you for setting up another thread for 2021, the 2020 thread and all your hard work keeping us ontrack, has made a huge difference to me this year
I'll do 52 bags in 52 weeks again and hope to improve on this years number.
My good intentions this year are -
1. Sort out the shed - declutter what we don't need and organise it so we can find stuff.
2. Redecorate the hall and stairs after damage from a water leak earlier in the year.
3. Redecorate and add storage in our downstairs toilet.
4. To add some additional cupboards in the kitchen to reduce the amount of surface clutter.
5. Declutter some more debt !
DH is on board with these too !!

Welcome aboard hopefuldebtfree 👋 Lovely to see you & I fully understand that you are overwhelmed - I think we have all started from that point. The important thing is that you have made the decision to start 👏 Not to blow my own trumpet (well maybe a little 😉) it was me re the idea to start with the bathroom 😉 Also Nicnak’s idea to just pick a small decluttering task is great 👍 A quick idea about the clothes - perhaps keep your favourite smaller size item of clothing (then try it on occasionally 🙂) Hopefully we can all encourage each other to declutter at a pace we are comfortable with 🙂 Do remember it took more than 5 minutes to acquire the clutter, so it will take time 😉Excellent work tryingtoavoiddebt 👏 you are definitely getting into the swing of decluttering 👏
Nice to see you back Gem-gem 👋 Glad you mentioned that this is your 5th year - it rather puts into perspective that decluttering is a long term proposition 😉 Currently I am not that focused, so I might take a leaf out of your book & decide on my targets for 2021 😔 Fingers crossed that your husband enjoys a healthier 2021 🤞
Lovely to see you back StickyTheStickInsect 👋 Target noted & I love your ‘good intentions’ - less pressure than targets 👏👏

Hello
have tried to read the whole thread but my focus has wandered off somewhere. Sorry.
Can I join please ?
Am a self confessed hoarder. Severe depression in the last decade has played a huge part. I seem to have a firm hand over that now, and for the first time in a long time I am happy to be me. So, as I am useless at keeping to targets (this may change as I get stronger) I would like to attempt 52 bags in 52 weeks.
Thank you Mrs S.D...........you are a veritable peach !
