as a bonus the friend I was walking with at the time who also got 2 tickets got hers cancelled too despite her already paying the fines
She's had a refund?  Wow, PPCs don't easily part with money their evil fingers have already wrapped themselves around!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

That is even better and why we bang the plan A drum !!

In my case it was family members and a couple of friends or friends of them who I helped out after research on here some 7 years ago, not me personally.  It opened my eyes and I learned a lot even about disabled parking spots being different than Street bays , hence why you should assume you will get PCN after parking or stopping , unless you prove otherwise , preferably with written proof

You have to treat these places like the new strain of covid19 , assume you are infected and everyone else is , unless proven otherwise

If in doubt , don't park , assume that a camera is watching 24/7/365 ( awful innit? )

Also keep all parking receipts for 4 months or longer

That is brilliant news that the PPC was forced to refund your friend.  What a result!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
