Coupon-mad said:Ok so I have shot myself in the foot about denying I was driving as I appealed so basically if I get taken to court I will lose unless i can think of any mitigating circumstancesCompletely wrong. No-one said any of that (except that admitting to driving in the appeal was not what we do).
G24 don't sue people much (haven't seen many at all in years) and we win 99% of cases defended, mostly by people who've shot their toes off by blabbing about being the driver. Ordinary non-legal people just like you and me. They all manage it with our helpWell it is already £180 as did not pay in 14 days due to appeal and in another 2 weeks they are going to put an extra £60 on for the debt recovery - if they can take up to 6 years will the debt recovery keep getting bigger?Wow, you haven't yet understood that not even the £60 is allowed? They can't add these fake debt recovery costs. even if you got a court claim, defended and were in the 1% here who manage to lose, the £60 would not be allowed, per PCN, by a Judge with half a brain. And we tell people how to argue that point too.
Stop worrying and certainly DON'T ring them or pay them any money.
You sound like a woman after my own heart (and generation) - just the sort of person who would benefit from reading the Hansard records of the 3 Parliamentary debates from 2018 where MPs unanimously exposed the 'outrageous scam' of private parking firms. The MPs' words will cement in your mind that the industry is rotten and that right thinking people don't give in to this bullying extortion:
https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2018-02-02/debates/CC84AF5E-AC6E-4E14-81B1-066E6A892807/Parking(CodeOfPractice)Bill

Then take your new-found knowledge to your MP to lend weight to any complaint you make to the landowner about this entrapment. And from now on, avoid private car parks, you DO NOT NEED A CAR PARK. I have no idea why people seek them out when there are perfectly good on-street spaces and side roads in most towns.Ok I am starting to breathe again! Yep the insomnia has kicked in - awake at 3.30am pay !!dont pay!! Hate feeling like this but equally hate been ripped off so am caught between the devil and the deep blue sea! Without you guys would have caved in by now for sure! So just so i am straight wait to see what happens and if court proceedings start get back in touch and someone can help with the legal jargon. Just out of interest how much notice do they give you to put together a defence and generally how long are they because like I said have just read one that is 26 page long-really?
In the meantime will read the links sent over - it is keeping me riled up!!

The template defence is at the top of the forum, written by me, another non-legally trained woman of a certain age. It is not 26 pages long!
Ignore debt letters and I BEG YOU please don't post about them...please no. Read post #4 of the NEWB IES thread and laugh at people's letter collections.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I sent an email to CEO Friday night and was sent a reply Monday on morning suggesting they would cancel the tickets despite parking when store was closed so not technically a customer- I have checked the progress on my case on line and the tickets are saying no longer valid - not received any confirmation from G24 yet but feel quite confident. Thanks for all your help on here- has saved me a lot of stress and money!!Umkomaas said:any advice about how to get email addresses or UK based contact detailswww.ceo*email.com. Good to hear retailers know who is more important - potential customers to save their business in 2021, whose word of mouth account of this will now be positive, or the scammer parking firm infesting their car park pointlessly.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Received confirmation today that both tickets have been cancelled and as a bonus the friend I was walking with at the time who also got 2 tickets got hers cancelled too despite her already paying the fines - what a bonus and could not have ended better! Just goes to show Plan A is definitely worth a go and even if you do not get any luck with the branch Manager - its worth trying the CEO as what have you got to lose. All thanks to Ralph_Y who prompted me twice about getting in writing. If I had more time on my hands I would join you guys as must be so rewarding when people get a result and I am sure your passion started by something similar happening to you. I have only received 2 parking tickets in 20 years and after reading some of the stories on here consider myself lucky especially as I was not aware of the private parking scams- i will certainly be more aware.Umkomaas said:Super result. Once again thanks for all your help - despite been in Tier 4 Christmas just got a bit better! Merry xmas to all
