Another very busy week.
I can't keep up with all the diaries i've been reading on here, each time I come online there are literally loads to read, maybe I will treat them all like a book when I go on holiday.
So for now an update.
Debt this month is now £24,275.16 which means in January we paid off £1,497.69, total paid off to date is £4,892.36 which is 16.77% (I think) Next month I would LOVE to be under the £23,000 but that will take some doing.....
Shopping was much harder to keep track of and came in way above the £250 budget I'd set which is ok as I have lots in the freezer still and the cupboards are doing ok also I think the final spend was around £350 ish. This month I am setting a budget of £300 which is about £75 a week as it is a shorter month and as I said we have some food already in.
The Sanctuary is going really well, we've had lots of enquiries lately, some quotes have been accepted and we are currently booking up to around May, we do have some spaces for our own and smaller jobs but not a lot. DD is loving working with me and is looking to increase her hours to two days this summer, I am delighted about this!
This month I have lost a few pounds in all but this week I put on a 1lb, boooooo, I just ate too much! Fact!
I have been mucking out all the horses this week as DH and DS have been flat out, I don't mind at all even though I am officially shattered and aching from head to toe! Money is money and at the moment we need as much of it as we can get!
I transferred £5000 of the debt to a lower interest card when I looked closely at the figures the original card is on 15.88% a 1% higher than I thought! The new one is on 3.9%, so we will concentrate on paying off the balance on the 15.88% one first which is now around £5200 and then tackle the lower interest one.
It really is such a relief to have the debt going, each month I see what we have paid off and see how far we have come, I am so relieved, the next big step will be to be under the £20,000. Our anniversary is in May and at this rate by then we might have managed it, fingers crossed. By then the horses will not be costing quite so much as they will be out a lot more and the hay and the bedding will drop a bit. I am cancelling my phone contract for April and having a sim only deal so that will be a bit less also.
I have a day out tomorrow with DD and some of her friends and then on Sunday I am cooking for the week, lots of bread, washing and ironing, cleaning and have a Tesco delivery.
Tonight I am just about to sit down with a cuppa, biscuit and some more episodes of Silent Witness.

I forgot weigh in day today so will do it tomorrow, I am not expecting miracles.
Beautiful weather here today, really lovely.
DS is looking to buy another house, the one he likes has just come on the market, he has offered the asking price but has been told they have lots of viewers so they will take the best offer out of all of them. It says asking price and not offers above....sounds a bit like gazumping to me....DH and I have told him he is in a strong position as he doesn't have a house to sell and can move as slow or as fast as they want.
DD is working with me tomorrow, thank goodness for that! My head has been in the shed for the last week, even simple tasks have been beyond me, feeling a bit clearer tonight though and today I actually achieved something.
I can not describe how excited I am about me and DH going on our mini holiday, it is going to be absolute bliss, desperate is not the word.
Both me and DH have been doing the horses in the mornings this week, I was too tired doing them all everyday so it is easier for us both to share them and do them first thing and then get to work.
It is pay debt day on Sunday I am excited about that, I can then see how we are doing again.
I've been paying absolutely every penny to the debt as I have been so desperate for it to go. DH said tonight that we have to keep on doing it but we also need a little bit of money for some fun, we are not extravagant but a meal out occasionally would be nice. I will go without for myself so very often have to borrow his socks

Pay day later today, very excited DH sold an item as well so that's a bit extra.
Struggled in the sanctuary yesterday with a job that has been beyond me for a while, finally got to the bottom of it and it is 95% sorted.
Tesco coming today £47.11 so shopping for the month is now £171.47
I can smell the bread cooking so it is almost ready, last week we had salted butter back which was nicer than Anchor.

You are doing well with the debt reduction. I agree with your husband that you need to budget for some fun spending too given you are going to be dealing with this for a while. Just read your diary. You're doing really well. It's hard being self employed. We've got lots of pots both in the business account and personal ones. It's taken a while most of them have got something in and it does get to the point where I begrudge actually using them!

It's one day diet and one day burn me atm.
We had lots of damage yesterday, outbuildings needing new roofs and fences down but no one hurt. We need to so the repairs but will replace with less expensive options out of desperation.
It is so frustrating waiting for the fortnight debt pay off I've consoled myself today by playing with the mortgage overpayment calculator.
