    🥦 for Monday.

I’m a bit behind on monthly updates so this is combined Jan & part way through Feb

    overpay mortgage by £2000 ⬆️
Nice progress on this, 14.5% of the way there.

    Save £6000 towards extension 🏡
Baby steps on this one- £333 in the pot after we pay for windows. We are chucking £400-£500 a month that way so should see progress.

increase long term saving pots 🚗 🇮🇸
not started yet due to holidaying

    finish en suite 🚽
Also hit by holidays and general prioritising other stuff! We did a few days in January so it’s creeping along but slowly. Need to do at least a day in Feb.

    mastermind an extension plan 🗺
    dreaming counts right?

    2 meat free days a week 🥦
    Jan - 4
    Feb - 3 so far

be able to run 15 miles 🏃‍♀️
I did 5 off road miles the other night which is the furthest I’ve run since 2021. I enjoyed it and could have gone further.

Run 5k parkrun in less than 35 minutes 🏃‍♀️
Best time this year is 44.06

Have at least one micro adventure a month ⛰
January’s adventure was epic! We went to Barcelona by train. We’ve had some lovely holiday cottage type holidays in the last few years but it was so good to be on an adventure and push our comfort level a little.

Embrace a more varied volunteer role 🙋‍♀️
I’ve signed up for a few things, co-leader training with my running club and some political bits in the run up to local elections. It’s quite difficult putting myself out there at the moment, I’ve realised that I was more burnt out than I thought by the voluntary stuff last year.

    Money news
I’m skint! £25 to last til end of the month… I need to review personal spends and work out what happened.

Joint account is much healthier. We have a few months of lower bills so using that to catch up and boost the pots.

    Other news
I have a new niece!! So spending lots of time with family. I also now have a cold so back to working from home today and no cycling or running 🤧

  • I’ve figured out why I’m feeling so skint. I allocate myself £150 spends a month and so far in Feb I’ve spent:

    60 walking trainers

45 towards weekend away in April

    46 replacement electric toothbrush

    26 coffees and lunches

Now I have pots for holidays and a small pot for “other” spends that the shoes and toothbrush should have come out of. I’m going to try and be frugal for the rest of the month but will draw down from the other pot if needed. I think a combo of unplanned for spends and not wanting to touch savings pots!

  • Oops more coffee money
£12.05 yesterday and today. I was thoroughly dissappointed with my lunch at uni so might start taking pack up for in the common room.
£124 new glasses have gone on the cc to come out of next months money 👓

🥦 day yesterday. I’ve also signed up for some interesting volunteering activities in the next few months. Something I’ve not done before so feeling quite energetic there. It’s my day off today and I’m having a potter. We’re off to see Ts sister tomorrow. Will try to be unspendy but I expect will involve coffee and cake!!! Have a good weekend wannabes!

  • I’ve finally got 5000 points on Yougov by linking a bank account I’m going to send it to the mortgage. I’m not going to do it again as they have completely stopped sending me surveys now so I can only get points from the bank account bribes which feel a little icky.
Prolific is up to £3.98, I don’t check it very often but I get more studies on there than Yougov. I like that the checkout is lower too.
