Yes it will be!! My big milestone is 55k as that was mortgage on the old house when we decided to move, aiming for that within 4/5 years so 100 is a big step in the right direction 💯

The plan is to OP between £500 and £600pm. Our standing order for OP is for £250 but we’ve budgeted £500 from the joint account each month and can usually rustle up an extra from tilly tidies. Ts technique is whenever I owe him money is I repay to the mortgage instead (eg if we are going halves on something or I’ve used his PayPal).

We’ve been away for new year which was money saving as we stayed at a friends campsite for free- only spends was a bit towards good, a tank of fuel and a round of drinks on New Year’s Day.

    Happy New Year wannabes 🥳

SH we usually go away with the same friends for NY and we’re all pros at having a good time on a budget. We normally do have a day at panto though which we didn’t feel was sensible atm.

First OP of the year- £250 SO + £300 from joint account 😁

    Mortgage balance £110,245 😃

I’ve been struggling to set short term goals that dovetail with my medium/long term objectives. I’ve had a think and here’s a starter (well it is January!)

    * OPs averaging £550pm in order to meet 1&3 yr targets (sub £100k and sub £75k)
    * cash savings at least £6k
    * house projects - progress on en suite and garden
    * keep up eco small steps (cycle first; reducing waste; less red meat; buy 2nd hand). A new addition to the list is shorter showers.
    * prioritise balance between work/health/wellbeing. This took a battering in 2021 and is quite a woolly aim! To be more precise, I’m going to ensure that everyday involves moving (steps tracker or exercise), something for me and something around the house (I tend towards being lazy at home and then getting grumpy about it)

I’ll keep checking in and will review at the end of the month!

    Morning wannabes!
I was back at work on Thursday and to be honest still feeling a bit wobbly. I suppose it’s early days to find my groove again. My aim of making sure I move and do something for me has helped- I tend to finish work grumpy and tired and not do anything which makes me grumpier. This week I did an exercise class and went for a walk after work, both helped.

I’m going to a ball tonight for one of the organisations I volunteer with, it’s always nice to see people dressed up and I have a feeling it might get a bit messy. We’re stopping over which I’ve budgeted for. I’m feeling slightly smug that I haven’t bought a new outfit- saving the world you know.

Have a good weekend all x
