Had a really relaxing weekend away, mostly pottering about near the sea and moving from cake to cake! FIL kept us well fed and it was lovely to spend some time with them. Total spends £17.76 (on the aforementioned cake 😂)

We’ve also acquired a large amount of houseplants and various things to put in the garden 🙂 I really needed the  break to be honest, I’ve been going 100mph for work and have got a stinking cold. I did manage to start my application for new job, although the current stress will be mine until at least Christmas 🙄

    Mortgage is approaching £114k 😃😃😃

Bought first Xmas pressie for mum off eBay. Hopefully easyfundraising worked on it but can’t see it yet. I wish eBay had an option to filter to just people selling stuff they have at room- a “decluttering to Pay off my mortgage” filter would be ideal 😂 £35 spent.

T and boys’ mum have sorted them out between them so realistically my list is only T, mum (who I like to spoil), nephew and family secret Santa (dad, siblings and step side of family- 10 of us all together). I refuse to get drawn into buying for in laws and have chopped off friends and other randoms in a bid to buy less presents!

  • Impressed with my mum present. Other spends this week are £9 on breakfast out for work meeting at a garden centre.

I’ve been in the office for a few days this week and likely to be there most the time until Christmas. I’m a bit frustrated as I did have other plans for the next few months but everything Is going back on the shelf. Off tomorrow though which is good as I’m frazzled! I do need to look at my job application though. Other plans for the weekend involve the garden and the cinema.

Have a good weekend when it gets here wannabes x

  • Joint account was looking very healthy for this time of the month so I squirelled some into the mortgage and did a big shop to restock the freezer. Also spent £27 on bulbs and a few tiny shrubs for the front garden and £28 on last nights cinema trip. Nice, balanced weekend with the boys doing a mix of outside jobs, cooking, chilling and cinema 😃

other spends £26 Christmas shopping- making good progress 😃

  • Eek spendy few days
£80 ball tickets for me and T- we didn’t go in 2020 and this year was cancelled so looking forward to catching up with people we haven’t seen during covid and getting glammed up! Also need a hotel which will add to it.
Birthday present for T- pleased with this as I left it to last minute last year. Spent more than usual but I do get to enjoy it!
£12.99 subscription to borrow my doggy- I looked at it a few years ago but couldn’t make it work time wise. Decided to try again and see how I get on- sent a few messages but not got anything concrete sorted yet.

Job application progress - done all the online bit and about 40% way through personal statement. Need to crack on as it closes onSunday!

  • This might seem like a stupid question but I'm not great at finance
I have an outstanding mortgage of about £13000
It is a flexible mortgage and I have overpaid regularly so I now have about £10k I can draw down
Does this mean that I can pay the mortgage off entirely by just paying another £3K
    Thanks for any replies
