Thanks for all the help guys, I've ordered a firestick today. Still buzzing from making such a huge monthly saving, wish I'd done it sooner.8

Every year we spend a fortune on flowers for the garden, but this year we’ve decided to have a go at growing some from seeds to save money. Super pleased as the lupin seedlings are poking through.Hope you all have a good day

hi tightpants24 yes its really satisfying, although i must confess I'm like some mother hen constantly checking up on them to see whats through and cheering when a new seedling pokes its little green leaves out of the soil.

Had the AstraZenica/Oxford Vaccination yesterday, apart from a slightly sore arm for about 30 minutes I've been fine so far. I did take the advice to rest when I got home. I hadn't read or heard all the media scaremongering beforehand but saw it online after the vaccination yesterday. I had flu three years ago and was quite ill despite being healthy normally so that put it into perspective - Covid is far worse so it was worth the risk of the vaccine for me.
Plenty of walking over the weekend, I never drive to hospital appointments or vaccinations. Think I walked about 10 miles altogether but the weather was kind to me, didn't rain.
Hope everyone had a good Mother's Day.13 -
Hello all. Finally today, an essential medical trip to nearest town coincided with their community fridge being open. I brought home spring onions, pomegranates, apples, pears, satsumas, hot cross buns, bread, tinned beans, an exotic sauce and tomato ketchup. Going to make a fruit salad soon to enjoy with some ice cream tonight.Spend less now, work less later.10

Mazzie - snap! I had the same vaccine yesterday and like you I just had a slightly sore arm. I woke up this morning having dreamt that my arm had swollen up to the size of a giant's - my brain must have been busy processing overnight.I don't post very often but I love reading this thread - I treat myself to a cup of tea and a read of the posts each evening.I had a nice dinner tonight - left over roast pork from yesterday, and mashed up potato, sweet potato and carrot with some mixed veg from the freezer. I'm trying to cook once, eat twice more often to save time and money. I'm also working through the contents of my freezer. A couple of frozen leftovers have lost their labels so tomorrow night will be freezer lucky dip. It will probably either be chilli or bolognese by the look of it - either will suit me fine and be a quick easy meal.9

I made a string pot holder today, just a small trial. Was pretty pleased with its outcome so I’m going to buy more string and try a bigger more knots version. I think a pot of spider plant in one will be a nice gift for someone.Off on an errand tomorrow so it’s to fareshare table first, drop a few books to a friend then a load more to the unmanned book swap. With any luck I’ll pick up a few for mR’s grandchild when we have visits again.I’ve started re decorating my kitchen. I’ve a tiny budget, £90 on a free standing unit and £45 on paint etc. (I have equipment) tomorrow is appliance rejig and sugar soaping.Life happens, live it well.10

Had mine as well yesterday MazzieD same one. Felt a bit shivery and achy overnight but a small price to pay from my perspective. Having seen mild versions of COVID up close no contest.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh7
